Ford GT Production Specs Posted....

Please see:

One interesting thing that I find about the production specs posted is that they go into detail in certain areas and leave others quite vague /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif For example they mention that the GT has Triple Gear Synchronization for the first 4 gears and double for the last two. The specs mention the weight distribution percentage front/rear as 43/57, but forget to mention total weight /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif . I think she is going to be a bit of a porker. Maybe we will have to wait for a magazine test of the production version to settle our contest.

Ricardo gear ratios look quite good.

Yes I have seen the 3200 lb "estimate." The rumor that I have heard from insiders is that it is currently at ~3600 lbs. We will see. All of the magazine articles that I have seen have provided estimates of the final design not measurements of the prototypes.

The more I think about this the more I wonder if Ford is inflating the weight specs and letting rumors loose as part of a disinformation campaign. Nah, probably not.

I think we should all just hold until the FULL production car is on some independent scales. I would not trust Ford's weights, us Mustang people have known for MANY years their curb weights are vastly different than what you see on the calibrated track scales.
