Gender equality, or stupidity?

I too ignored the partisan politics and focused on the main issue:women in the front line.

The rest of the blog however, was pretty much guaranteed to take us down that old one way street with the only exit being via the ring road without off ramps.

If you all wish to continue with the Women in the Front Line so please be my guest.

If you have another agenda, kindly leave the room.

The subject matter does have merit however, and I personally wonder why this seems to be happening all over the Western World. Who is pushing for it and why?

That is the question, is striving for gender equality as a combat soldier stupid? There are plenty of combat roles women can serve in, front line soldier or special ops is not one.

In my opinion politicians attempting to get more women's votes are pushing this agenda (the equality agenda). As always they do not give a rats that it may mean more casualties both male and female in combat. All they care about is votes.
Ironically they would probably get more female votes by trying to end some wars, but nobody said the bastards were smart.

The more important question - most persons here "got it", the political BS fell and should fall on def ears or eyes in this case.

All he did was post an insulting hit piece. Now I know that most folks here agree with Al and that's fine, but do not forget there are two sides to any discussion.

I'm afraid that some of you only listen to one side of the argument and you have heard so many outlandish attacks on the Left that you don't even notice them anymore.

I just posted a view that doesn't match yours, the subject was what I was interested in, women in combat. Jim, I could post that the world is round and you would site some right wing, racist, women hating, vote suppression, immigrant hating BS about it. The post was to stimulate a view, women in combat, pro or con, no ulterior motive. If it was written by a left wing, commie pig, gay rights advocate, on crystal meth, I would have posted it. From what I have read the Israeli Sheila's do all right in the front line.

And I have seen grown men shit their pants and run and hide and cry for their mum when the shit hits the fan.So I think it depends on the individual.

Personally I think men are more suited in build and stature than women generally speaking when it comes to combat. Also it is inherent in men to worry about even the most competent of women falling into enemy hands, not a good scenario when one should have full concentration on the job at hand.

Definitely Physical standards should not be dropped or modified to allow women into combat units.

The issue here specifically, goes to the suitability of women in a combat role. Clearly most of us here, do not give a hoot, which political party thinks its a good idea to send physically inferior personnel into the front-line of a battlefield, only whether a soldier, male or female, can actually carry their own weapon onto the field and then utilise it effectively.

This is crap and any sane person, not looking to win a vote, knows it. Either you are aiming for office Jim, or you are frankly, not sane.

I find it a joke that both sides send out crap on a regular basis and that reasonable people get tired of filtering through the BS to find the meat of the issue, and some just throw in the towel and abstain from politics altogether.

I have a neighbor who (like you) is a good bud of mine. He does does the mud slinging thing, and frankly it just boggles me no end.
