We made our own louvre tools but obviously this stuff is a lot finer.
There are many kit car products like this on the Bay. The Australian household market also sells a lot of different sun screen material.

Google L7616 aluminium screen for example. I can't verify the dimensions of this particular product but you will get my drift.

Over the years I have seen three of these castings broken at the front bolt hole.
The trouble is that the 1964 drawing shows the rear of the vertical flange machined away to a very thin nose to get it to fit over the front door post plating.

My pattern for a stronger gearshift casting complete with a boss at the bolt hole. Curiously, this boss is actually shown in the JWE book illustration.
The spherical bearing post is also taller to pick up the two rear screws on the escutcheon plate and the arm rest as an option.

Off to the foundry this week.

We are working on the rear brake ducts this week.
The dishes are complete but It is tough to get a fit for the inlet as it is a bit of a stramash around the back end.

Simple answer is :
We are using cheap temporary fasteners because the suspension and uprights are coming off and on regularly to get the vents fitted.
The uprights also need to be drilled for the brackets.
The correct bolts will go in against the bolt list and marked up on final fit.

Thanks, I have been collecting parts for this car of mine for nigh on 14 years so good things are bound to turn up now and again.
Those old brake unions above turned out nice after a dip in cleaner.

I set up a couple of my fuel pumps today on the cartridge bracket.
It works OK so on with the hole flanging and seam welding.

Both options are possible, depending on your dash switching.

The original fuel hose to the carbs was not Simplifix supply.

On my car, same pumps, they run in parallel.

I changed over the sockets to get two wires to the amber flasher segment on the rears.
These are my rears before the change.
