Beginning to look like cars at last.

Mr Mac, I have to ask this question. After noticing your notices and then seeing one of same on an SPF car in the USA, I must admit to being somewhat baffled, which is not hard as I am often baffled by my own reflection these days.

What exactly is meant by "Sequential Gearbox?"

I know what a sequential gearbox is and a motorcycle box is the purest form, but what puzzles me is how this relates to a GT40 exactly?

It doesn't relate. It's a different meaning of "sequential" as in "if you go out of order you will regret it" rather than the more common meaning: "we assume you want to change by one gear step at a time so therefore there is one motion for upshift and another for downshift"

Thanks for the reply. How very strange - never seen sight or sound of that explanation before, and how very limited in operation.

Picture me... puzzled.

Richard,
That is a joggled rod which links the two rear clip top latch levers. It has a tang which pokes back through the bulkhead to a knob in the cockpit for releasing the latches in one action.
Jim,
Next time you are across in Canterbury just call by. You are most welcome anytime friend.

Jim,
Ali's car will be in a traditional Gulf livery.
As for mine it's anybody's guess at the moment but I keep thinking of Ecurie Ecosse blue.
Plain dark blue also appeals to me.

James

great progress on both cars. looking forward to every update on this thread.

HOw about plain battleship grey ( like the first VW beetles), black wheels , white center and sill stripe with red outlines. Ooops that would be my next paint scheme.

Tom,
Thanks mate.
Ehem' well yes, your colour scheme does have a rather tutonic touch to it - the trusty old 'Radcliffe Roadster' painted like a U-boat.
:thinking2:
