We have asked to see if perhaps arrangements could be made to swap campsites so that we'd be able to camp together, and they haven't even bothered to respond.
What a cock-up! :furious:
Thanks in no small part to Paul's efforts, Just Tickets seems to be willing to cooperate with us in straightening out this problem. We will each have to first return our existing passes to JT, and then they will issue a block of six adjacent tickets to one of us, who in turn will then distribute to the rest.
When we first tried to sort it ourselves a few weeks ago, we were told they were entirely sold out and there was nothing they could do. (I misspoke above when I said they didn't reply; in fact they had replied but said there was nothing they could do).
Whether there were numerous cancellations, or they secured another block of tickets, I don't know. I'm just glad it's going to work out after all. Thanks again Paul!
I do hope that JT has learned from the mistake of failing to clearly state that campsites are now numbered and assigned, for the first time. I think the new policy is actually an excellent idea, and very reasonable; it's the failure to communicate that the policy has changed that has caused the problems.
I am under the impression that we are not the only ones who have been caught out by this change of policy, and I suspect they are probably dealing with numerous inquiries like ours.
See you in Le Mans!
