Mk.II headlights

Hi again,
after getting an instant and very detailed reply about fuel pumps I thought I'd pose another detail question.

What headlamps did the Shelby prepared Mk.IIs use in the 66 LM race - Cibie, Marcshal, or something else? As these were US prepared rather than the more usual JW prepared Mk.1s most of the electrics seem to be USA sourced so I was wondering if the lights were the same?

Thanks once again guys :)

Craig,

the main hewadlights were Marschal, the same as the mkIs.
There were lucas parts as well apparently that were an identical size, but i can't figure out the part number.

The early 'long nose' mkIIs (1965) used the large round lower lights (knows as driving lights) the same as the later gulf cars used.
By 1966 the now familiar shorter nose was adopted, and with it the same lights as the same lower lights as the mkIs.

Sorry, I don't know what these came from, but they are quoted as 'iodine quartz units as used on some european vehicles'.

Note that the main headlights were single filament, having no dipped beam.
The lower driving lights were used as flashers to indicate when about to pass a slower car.

All other lights used long life bulbs.

hope that helps.

Cheers,
John.
