I don't think any of we global warming/climate change deniers are against cleaning up the planet or stopping pollution in all it's forms. It is a label the warmists love to give us. I.E. If you don't believe in global warming you are a horrible polluter.
Personally I don't believe CO2 is a bad gas, neither do the trees, they use it to make oxygen. What I object to is hypocrites like Gore and the IPCC and my government trying to profit from scaring the crap out of people and telling blatant lies and cooking the books to do it.

I think that pretty much nailed it Pete. Problem is, how to we overcome it? There doesn't seem to be a way an ordinary Joe can make a difference anymore, or even a large collection of them come to that.
The last Govt made this facility of on-line petitions and all you had to do to get noticed is to raise 100,000 signatures and the Govt have to respond with some kind of action.
To date, I believe I am right in saying that 98% of them have been ignored or passed over with deeply sympathetic "cluck-cluck" noises from the cabinet office.
However, I do think they're is a case (for us anyway) of really leaning on your local MP or whatever. Trouble is, no-one bothers to even send an email. We have a marvellous system of getting right into the hearts and minds of our representatives with a few key strokes and what do we do?

Now that we in Oz have a right wing Government there is light at the end of the tunnel.
One of the platforms Abbott got elected on was repealing the carbon tax. That is currently being blocked by the left wing dominated Senate, even though Abbott has a huge mandate for such a repeal.
The economy was left in tatters by the labor party, and some of the cost cutting measures the current Government is doing is getting rid of with the department of climate change and other departments of similar ilk.

Science paper doubts IPCC, so whole journal gets terminated!
The publisher appears to be shocked that in a recent special issue the scientists expressed doubt about the accelerated warming predicted by the IPCC. For the crime of not bowing before the sacred tabernacle, apparently the publishers suddenly felt the need to distance themselves, and in the most over-the-top way. The reasons they gave had nothing to do with the data, the logic, and they cite no errors. There can be no mistake, this is about enforcing a permitted line of thought.
I must say, it’s a brilliant (if a tad expensive) way to draw attention to a scientific paper. It’s the Barbara-Streisland moment in science. Forget “withdrawn”, forget “retracted”, the new line in the sand is to write a paper so hot they have to terminate the whole journal! Skeptics could hardly come up with a more electric publicity campaign.
Naturally, as with all good Barbara-Streisland-moves intended to suppress information, as soon as I heard, the first thing I did was to seek out and download copies of all the papers. Right now, people everywhere would be starting to do the same, curious to know what could be so unsayable. (See the links at the bottom).
In the official announcement the excuses are amazingly transparent. There is little attempt to cover up the reasons. The publisher pays the usual lip service saying science needs disputes and discussion of controversial topics. But some things are apparently too awful to contemplate — like pointing out how the high priests of the IPCC might be incorrect.

Want to be a “climate scientist”? Well you can be within a week. Simply write a paper on the weather or whatever, have it peer-reviewed, then publish it in some dodgy Green journal and voila! You’re a “scientist!” Now you can start reporting your conclusions to the UN’s IPCC about how we are all about to die of sun stroke while drowning in high tides at the same time. They are looking forward to hearing from you, after all it is the first of April.
Of course, if you want to be an oceanographer or a meteorologist, it may take a few years longer and the IPCC will not want to hear from you at all.

Its Chairman, Rajendra Pachauri (pictured) is an ex Indian railways worker for Christ's sake!
The remainder are probably ageing, frustrated weather girls.
Governments’ “global warming” Agencies have also been conspiring with Green groups to defraud taxpayers of tens of millions of dollars.
“Sue and Settle “ practices, also referred to as “friendly lawsuits”, are cosy deals whereby far-Left radical Green groups file lawsuits against sympathetic Government “warmist” Agencies.
Court “consent orders” are then issued based upon the prearranged settlement amounts made in advance behind closed doors.
One observer described the scam as: “The Government Agency throws the case, somewhat like Bre’r Rabbit agreeing to be thrown into his favourite brier-patch.”
Tens of millions are extorted from uncomplaining Green governments and given back to Green groups like Earthjustice, who recently netted $4,655,000, the US based Sierra Club, $967,000 and the Natural Resources Defense Council, $252,000.
The IPCC then creams the normal 10 per cent of the ongoing scam.
That’s only the tip of the “melting” iceberg of scams the IPCC is involved in using the greatest scamster of all, Al Gore, as their figurehead who then makes squillions insider-trading carbon credits through his own bank of carbon credit companies.
The scam will continue as long as people like Bob Brown can beguile opportunistic crooks like Julia Gillard.
The IPCC rejects any report that doesn’t claim anthropogenic warming, and always throws in a few goodies like its recently discredited, “the Himalayas will soon be devoid of snow” nonsense.
Figures are massaged, graphs are inverted and reports are altered in an attempt to convince the gullible of their expertise in “climate science”. “Climate” can be a science but these charlatans are certainly not scientists!
Long lunches are spent inventing emotive doomsday phrases designed for you to elect Green-sympathetic governments, like Julia Gillard’s, that will happily give them billions more of your taxes.
There is no global warming, it would be good if there was, but both ice-caps have increased in area, Europe and the US have just recorded three years of record cold conditions, atmospheric CO2 levels have continued to vary by the normal 0.1 per cent, US “Tornado Alley” had 30 per cent fewer tornados last season, there are no tidal increases anywhere and the climate is still changing normally in its own erratic way, as it always has.
The only regulators of the world’s CO2 levels, the oceans, the sun and volcanos, are the only regulators IPCC reports don’t account for.
Thank God the Abbott Government only pays lip service to this global warming myth.

Amazing...just last night there was a rather disturbing feature on TV regarding climate change and the likelihood that mankind may be threatened by the undeniable changes that are occurring as we speak. Nothing regarding whether or not the changes are related to mankind and our contributions, but does that really matter?
Are we as a race so blind that we cannot see the writing on the wall???
