More Global Cooling/Warming/Change hoax.

Dr Tony Worby is C.E.O. Of the C.S.I.R.O.'s Antarctic division. The C.S.I.R.O. Is a fully Government funded department and has a history of sacking Scientist's who doubt man made global warming. It is a rabid follower of the IPCC.
I very much doubt that Dr Worby would do anything to effect his salary.
Very innovative of him to say increased Antarctic ice is caused by Global warming. Of course that discounts the FACT that the Earth has been cooling for the last 17 years.
Dr. Worby will probably get a nice bonus for coming up with that nonsense.

Good grief, again.

A simple google search shows that pretty much every climate scientist agrees that warming trends have increased the polar vortex, resulting in more sea ice. Worby is just one of many.

Other than "it's a conspiracy!!!" do you guys have any SCIENCE to refute what the SCIENTISTS are saying is causing this?

Anyone?

Bueller?

How about common sense?
I just posted evidence of fourteen scientists, ex employees of the CSIRO who complained of bullying if they didn't toe the line re global warming.
Next someone will come up with a theory if they haven't yet done so that the fact the earth has been cooling for the last 17 years is because of global warming.

Nope. Need science. that's how we determine what is actually going on in the natural world.

Common sense had us believing the world was flat, the earth was the center of the universe, man couldn't fly, and so on.

So again, other than CONSPIRACY! what science do you guys have to show that the climate scientists are wrong about this one?

There are plenty just google them. And the scientist that said the earth was round was bullied just like the climate change deniers at the CSIRO.

I did that. I found nothing other than "nuh huh."

Climate scientists have explained how sea ice is formed in the Antartic and how warming patterns have changed wind flows, and resulted in more ice.

"Skeptics" simply say more ice means we aren't warming. That's not science, that's just denial.

Show me the science, otherwise, this is all just like a the 6 year old who just gets upset when it is demonstrated to him there is no Santa Claus.

You keep ignoring the fact the earth has been cooling for the last 17 years.
Or is that a conspiracy theory also?

BZZZT. Math fail. Ten hottest years on record have all been in the last 15. Minor cooling over a short period (aren't you guys the ones always clamoring about long term cycles) does not a trend make.

It's truly bizarre this "skeptic" stuff. Not science based at all. If you ran a business like you approached your analysis of this, you'd last a week.

And...bzzzt math fail.

Top ten years in RECORDED HISTORY have been in the last fifteen.

What is amazing is this complete abhorrence of science.

Science once said the earth was flat. But there are plenty of scientists that agree with us,
but they have been sacked ,bullied, or lost their research grants see my post #1301.

Actually it was the scientists that said it was round.....

It was folks like you who refused to believe the mountains of evidence, who insisted it was flat!

I read some of the information on the CSIRO bullying. A lot of it seemed to be pissy non-adult stuff, not related to climate change. Some of it seemed like office politics. Some of it seemed like people were just assholes.

At the end of the day, and a $5 mil investigation, no wrongdoing was found. Or are we just supposed to take complainers at their word?

My guess is that if the claims had been by women over sexual harassment, they'd get pooh poohed here as made up, exaggereated or downright fabricated.

Amazing how everything is because of global warming.. Sea ice retreats =global warming.
Sea ice increases =global warming. Give me a break and follow the money not the politics.

Well, I guess we've beaten the data-horse to death pretty good. Like most data-intensive discussions, how you slice and dice the data...and from what angle you look at it...can generate equally correct and different outcomes and conclusions.... There's obviously no one right and 100% conclusive answer.

That aside, what I do see with my own eyes and ears and other senses is an increasingly apparent negative effect upon the world due to man's presence. The way we have depleted the natural fish stocks is just one of many, many such effects of man's presence....all with the same basic dynamic.....little or no cooperation and control coming too late to have any effect on the overall trend of environmental depletion and destruction. My grandfather was a commercial fisherman in the good times so I know just a little about the subject of then v. now and how it has gone over time.

The net of it is that when one uses their own eyes and ears....really uses them...to study the trends and effects of man's presence on this world, it's a very sad state of affairs with an even more alarming outlook to the future. It's really just plain sad.

I'll say one thing, I'm not buying any of the crap Alibaba stock. The Chinese need to get their environmental act in order and the US leadership needs to enforce that with import tariffs or something to make it happen. Get a backbone.

We need to send the EPA here to China, and let them drive them crazy for a while. Been there won't go back. rarely saw the sun, just smog. Worse than LA when it was bad there.
