New to GT40 owneship!!

Hi,
After wanting a GT40 for over 20 years, as of last night I have a well-used and loved KVA tucked away in my Garage.

<o></o>The car is very well known and was built by Robin Sundt, so she has a whole website dedicated to it which is very good to know and lots of information.

I have been a lurker for ages, but happily now a paid up Bronze Supporter and also just joined the Enthusiasts Club, thought I better as I bought the car of the current chairman and it was built by the previous!!!<o></o>
<o></o>Anyway will try and make it next Wed to the meeting, but I don't think it will be in the GT40, few issues to sort out for the MOT.<o></o>
<o></o>And problems with the starter, I need to find a geared starter for a Transit flywheel ??!! I have a lot to learn.

<o></o>Brakes seized on when taking off the trailer, and then freed up when I stalled it, so suspect a vacuum problem in the servo??
Electrics that work then don't then do

A 351 High compression engine, that I'm ever so slightly scared of, in fact the whole car scares me a little, which quite frankly is brilliant.

<o></o>Planning to go to Le Mans this year (as always) but if I can get the GT40 ready it will probably know its own way there!!

I am sure you will learn loads during your time with your new aquisition, i have with mine.

Go to the club meetings, loads of really nice enthusiasts and a wealth of really useful knowledge.

Hope you enjoy your car as much as I enjoy mine, i too waited 20+ years.

Hi Everyone,

Thnks for the warm welcome, Spent the last few days going over the car working out how its all put together.
having a couple of issues with the starter and the brakes vacuum locking on, but all good I've got a list as long as my arm to get through, but overall really happy with it and I do love its 'used' look. I promise I will get some photos up in the next couple of days.
Not sure I'm going to make this wednesday the car won't as I have a few jobs for the MOT

thanks Max looking foward to getting the pack and I have already had a PM from Brian and also a lovely email from Robin Sundt. Andrew and Debbie Komosa are such amazing people feel quite privileged to have met them. (Sorry about the gates!)

now onto the forum to try and tap into the knowledge!!
