Pete's Pony car restoration.

Pete,
I like the wheels you chose. Who is the manufacturer? Great looking car by the way and it will really stand out from the committee disigned cars of today.

Garry

Hi Pete, I think tha every car guy either has one of these or wants one.
Here is mine, not quite finished yet and on hold until the the Indy is back on its wheels.
I found it here in Ramona, in a field.
Crashed pretty hard but with perfect floors, no rust.
It is set up for a 347, World Class T5, 9" w/3:73 limited slip, full TCP suspension w/power rack and pinion. QA 1 shocks, Meire Racing panhard rod, torque
link, I had a reinforcement kit added to the chassis instead of sub frame connectors,
Rear seat is out, R model roll bar etc.
Your car looks great, I like the color combination.

Very cool David, I really like your colour combo too. In fact I tossed up between the red and the blue and finally settled for the blue.
Your suspension set up is a lot more race oriented than mine. But I intend for this to be my daily driver.

OMG..I read this only now.
Excellent car Pete, and excellent color (I love the blue /white stripes on american cars)

Great to see your car coming along so nicely.
To answer your question from post #15, the car is a C code Coupe originally Wimbledon White with a C4. Still realistically about 1-2 years away from doing the full resto....
Back to your car, when do you hope to have it on the road?

Only a few weeks away Bill.
Motor in, windows fitted, interior started. See pics.

Great iconic cars, the early Mustangs. After seeing the chase scene in Bullit with Steve McQueen really gunning his Mustang (many years ago now), I decided they were very cool and the sound of the V8, especially with high compression, is fabulous.

You'll be able to pull a horse float and carry luggage in the pony car, Pete. Something a little beyond the capabilities of the 40.

Cheers,

Dalton

Pete,
The car is looking very sweet. It's a first time for me to see a RHD on an old mustang. Too cool.

Very nice Pete! That RHD would be a hoot over on this side of the pond. I wonder how many were made.

Hi Neal, it started life as a LHD, the RHD conversion was done here and used up the most time. All work had to be inspected and approved by the motor transport authority.

Dalton, you got it! Both jobs will be part of its role.

Beautiful Stang Pete. I love the early small block Mustang. I like your idea of keeping it old school. I kind of went a little crazy with mine and I regret that it lost most of its old car charm in the way it drives and handles. Here are pics of mine.
