Thanks for the kind words, must admit I was very worried as I rebuilt the engine around 4 years ago and it has been sat in a damp shed since then. Think my covering everything with assembly lube and oil helped.
I was also a bit embarrassed about a couple of amateur errors they had to rectify ( now know trick flow heads have a couple of passageways from the end, going into the heads that have to be plugged if you are not using them ). I asked them to be gentle when talking about with me after I left, but apparently I didn't even come in the top 10 of misdemeanors they have seen
Just fire it up my friend. I'd need to take t out the car otherwise Slowly getting there, but as it's all wiring at the moment no build updates... nearly finished all the loom (original and new) install and tidy up! At the rate been going, could have had it ready to maybe do by end of the month.
Unfortunately, as it needs to be a weekend really to fire it up, I now won't get an opportunity to try until mid-September.
Slight set back when a moment's lack of concentration led to a crossed thread on my half shaft. Quick panic phone call to Mick at Southern GT to find out the thread size so I could try to find a die to rectify my blunder, and he said just send the adapter down and we will sort it.
Great to have a friendly patient voice at the end of the phone.
It's on its way Mick
Unfortunately upon separating the splined adapter from the CV joint the ball bearings in the cage became dislodged. Not being that bright I could not for the life of me work out how it all went back together.
Thank God for the internet and this tutorial [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOma2BMhrzc]Rebuild CV joints part 2 - YouTube[/ame] all now back together yippee.
Pictures of the misdemeanour and its rectification.
Can't believe it is 9 months since my last update. have been having a bit of a nightmare with my Hi Spec rear brakes, it's a long story!!!
Well she turns over oil pressure came up. Thought about starting her looked at my fuel pumps, and thought that's not going to work and I was not wrong :-(
IVA stuff going on and car jacked right up on suspension to get the lights to the minimum 500mm. More scared than excited about the thought of the IVA test at the moment
