SPF MK1, what needs to / should be done?

I’m taking delivery of my MK1 (chassis 2208).

The car was built in 2008 by Dynamic Motorsports in Ohio, the engine comes from Performance ENgineering.

The previous owner has done some work to adress issues with the engine, but otherwise the car is pretty much factory issue.

I live in Luxembourg (Europe) and there are no GT40 or SPF specialists in the near vincinity so I will do most of the work myself.

What are the « must-do’s » to check / fix / install / upgrade on an SPF MK1 for road use?

Luxembourg has Ford Wengler as a Mustang specialist who also competes in historic racing with Mustangs. Lots of engine knowledge there.
He also is an official dealer for the new Ford GT.

Belgium has an official SPF dealership.

Then we have a member of this board in Belgium with lots of experience with GT40's as he maintains several Customers GT40's and races with a GT40.

Welcome to the car ownership.

I seem to remember the early cars had a problem with their parking brake as the mechanism would come loose inside the rear drum type arrangement inside the disc. It was well documented on this forum so worth a search and checking all is well on your car.

There was also a batch of cars that had the master cylinder reservoir weep and drip and the fluid removed paint.

I read somewhere about a relay fix kit for the radiator fans, but I can‘t find it on the SPF homepage nor any details about it on here.

can someone help?

Rick,
Another recent thread here talks about the wheel bearings. Has anything ever been done to update/improve these from earlier editions?

No. The bearings are as on the FAV cars and use German "Nilos" seals. This is "the good thing about these cars is they are built like the originals; the bad thing is they are built like the originals!"

Chassis 2208 will have the A/C fan relay pack, so nothing required there. Our A/C seal kit will reduce ambient air intrusion and increase cool air delivery.
