This seems off to me

In the thread about the current market value of the beloved GT40 I posted a comment about a guy in FL that had a rep for dirt cheap ($12,500). At the time I couldn't find his Craig's list add but I checked today and there it was Gt 40 Race/Street-R Glass BodyLow profile . Now I know nothing about the car and TBH it looks a bit off. Either way I just wanted to post the link and let you guys have at it. Again I do not know the seller or the car just posted this for informative purposes.

That would explain it. I just didn't want you guys to think that I got my info out of thin air lol. Oh and here is the companies site http://www.fiberfab.us So is this GT40 reproduction or something based on a GT40?

But state of the art in a very small market at the time! IIRC there were two models, the Avenger (which was VW/Corvair powered) and the Valkyrie (which was mid-engined V-8 powered). I always wondered how one would go with Mazda rotary power or Porsche Boxster-S power. Seems kinda high priced to me, though.....

Damian,
I built a Fiberfab GT with a corvair six int it. It really was fun and not a bad way to get a 'cheap' sports car but the panel fit from the factory was not great. This guy seems to have done a very good job but with other options today, this might be a little high, however the price is for the buyer to decide. I woud look at how he engineered the VW chassis and especially the look hard at the electrical harness. That was my biggest problem, repairing the harness from rubbing in the chassis since it flexes a lot by todays standards. Go see it in person before you buy. I had a friend that was much more of a fabricator than I was and his FiberFab Avenger was a work of art. The only thing he didn't redo on the chassis was the pan and his little car won a lot of rallys that we staged in the area, even beating out the Porche 914's which seemed to dominate the field in the 2 liter class. The Avenger was quicker off the line and had a beter top-end. With the mods he did to the chassis (front and rear) he was very quick on the slolom course as well.
