Aussie Closer to NZ

I just heard an item on the radio that after last weeks earthquake that Aussie is now 100mm closer to NZ, heres hoping we dont get to many more, the blighters will be arriving over from a Sunday stroll while the tides out! :):)

Whats even more of a concern is when the plates shifted that somehow they twisted as well & the area around Foveaux Strait/Bluff ( Bluff Oysters ) is actually 300mm closer, now that would be a tragedy!!!!

That would be the weight of your countrymen tipping the east coast over, thus generating an angular momentum towards their nation of origin.

Eventually, we'll be able to return them :p:

I think we'll keep ross though.....

Freewheel, that was my exact first response....... until I consulted a highly qualified team of experts. It appears that the earthquake and subsequent shift is due to "CLIMATE CHANGE" and the carbon emissions. Watch your local news and newspapers for future stories on the subject.:)

It's not all bad news,
1. We’ll be closer to Cloudy Bay, which means greater access to excellent sauvignon blanc.
2. When people decide to row across the Tasman, they’ve got a greater chance of making it.
3. It will cost less to go skiing (if you’re into that sort of thing).
4. We can start barracking for the All Blacks, because the Wallabies are so terrible.
5. It makes it easier for us to take credit for all the New Zealander actors and singers we already claim as our own.
6.And I'm rather partial to lamb chops.

....not only that,

*With any luck we'll catch a little excess rainfall
*The constitution might finally become reality
*Complaints about the difficulty of accessing some social benefits will cease
*The number of idiots wearing stupid shirts at APEC meetings will reduce

It could turn out to be a pretty good result after all!

Freewheel-- that means the Island (NZ) is listing ---:idea:better start a bail out scheme -- quick, before they (kiwis) think of it

Listing is not due to the earthquake it is a deliberately engineered list and has already been well documented on this site and Chris Liokos has even taken photos of it and commented on it!

That's not a crooked picture. The Queenstown region is very popular with the downhill skiers and that lake has been deliberately tilted for water skiing in the summer ;)

In this thread http://www.gt40s.com/forum/paddock/19898-new-zealand-australia.html

I wouldn't worry too much about OZ and Godzone getting closer together...... the natural repulsion on the other side of the ditch will have sufficient force to successfully resist that ever happening!! ;)

You guys are still thinking INSIDE the box - Are you sure this isn't a scheme by Rudd and his cronies to sneak up on the Kiwi's in the interest of generating more tax revenue?

I don't think we've got enough water to bale anything out - thus the attraction of pinching their rainfall. Some folks wouldn't mind a bale-in scheme - any suggestions Russ?

As for Krudd, (for those who haven't caught up with AJ's argument, the PM's name is Kevin) it is my understanding that the legacy of Hulun Cluck is that the kiwis would love to have our taxation burden....
