Bang on Keith! Water is the key.
Jeff claims I have " a very limited understanding of how modern electrical grids work". Well, whatever Jeff. You fail to recognise the Over-all question and be able to get your head out of just the portion of the debate that directly effects your own back yard.
So your suggestion seems to be to have enough wind turbines everywhere, to be in the right place at the right time and then have a grid, capable of connecting all places together at once?
Pie in the sky! We have had a fully interconnected grid since we have had a grid. You have a shit load of square miles to cover. Good luck funding that, JUST for wind! What a naive idea. The real world isn't a Hollywood movie where anything conceivable is plausible Jeff.
But then what do I know, I'm not a Lawyer!
