Bit annoyed with myself for setting the first rivet at the wrong end of the panel therefore ending up with an extra rivet in a daft place on the upper front corner:thumbsdown: should have just left it out really but too late now...

Hi Paul, Looking good mate.
You might find it easier to not final rivet some of the panels so that you get access easier. For example where the water hoses exit and where your pedal mounting plate goes. It starts to get busy round there.
If you don't have to rivet, maybe best to just temp.. fix
Just a thought, but your doing good.

Thanks :)

Keith, the panels you refer to, are they the ones that I have already riveted? :uhoh: I have checked with Mick and the guys whom have assured me it's fine to fully panel but advised me to fit he steering rack (which I picked up today). I guess it is exactly the same as yours because I know there have been a few changes over time? The top panel is held on with rivnuts so I was hoping this would give me enough room? May be a little late now anyway....

Looking forward to getting a spanner out tomorrow and installing the rack:thumbsup:

Paul

Paul, this is really good work, I'm jealous. Your 3D panels and holes look great, tell me you have loads of failed attempts, :sweatdrop: can I ask, what is the distance between the seat braces in the floor, also their distance from the rear cabin panel, mine has none and I have to weld them in ? Keith.

Hi Keith,

Sorry for the delay, the distance from the rear panel to the first (rear) brace is 11" and to the second (front) brace is 24" both measured to the back (engine) side of each brace, Is that what you wanted to know?

Cheers

Paul

Wowwww very neat work ; those folded panels from Mick seems to be a pleasure to fit on the frame ?????
Does some of them have holes or you did by yourself all measurements ??
Is there some manual to tell you how many rivets by line ?

Keep your so good work !!!

Fantastic Panelling job Paul, looks brilliant!
Thanks for posting those engine bay pics, I was wondering how I was going to panel that area!

Paul thanks, yes that is it, is that the measurement to the centre line of each brace or the edge nearest the rear panel?

Panelling continues to make me jealous. K

Well panels coming folded massively helps, in fact I'm not sure I would have been brave enough to have undertaken the build if making them from scratch, though confidence is growing; However, the panels are far from perfect though and take me a lot of work to get them just right (or as good as I feel I can do), they don't come pre drilled except the floor so I have measured all my rivets out and drilled them, there is quite a few....
There is no manual for the car but support from all at SGT has without doubt been first class, answering all my many stupid questions, sending me pictures and putting up with my impromptu visits to see how things should be done, the support given definitely equals the quality of the kit

Cheers Keith, really enjoying your build too, keep those updates coming...

I measured the rails to the edge nearest the rear bulkhead.

Mrs PaulBav had her friends over tonight so a little more progress made....

Think I may have gone a little rivet crazy on these ones, hope I don't live to regret it!
