Even here in the U.S. we do not use capital punishment (death) to punish child molesters...we imprison them, and believe it or not they are entitled to protection from the very kind of predation they perpetrated on their victims. I know because I work for our state's prison system and frequently have to deal with "Offender Protection Investigation" issues...and those who prey on children are the most frequently preyed upon in the prison system. The inmates (whom we must now refer to as "offenders" in some sort of political correctness inspired effort to avoid offending them...WTF is up with that????) target child molesters and they frequently have to be moved to different prisons when other "offenders" find out what their crime was and commit the same kind of crimes on them.
There is no punishment, IMHO, that is appropriate. Death seems a bit too extreme, but other than that it seem too lenient to allow them to exist. There is a culture in the prison system, though, that seems to include prison officials and guards, which seems to turn a blind eye to the revenge the other "offenders" extract on those whom they identify as child molesters...may even encourage it at times.
There is no right answer, other than to find a way to identify those who might offend in this manner early in life and try to "program them".
Anyone remember "A Clockwork Orange"?????
Cheers!
