Pete, I get my information from my own eyes. Eyes that can view pictures (satellite and otherwise) from past and present (yes, at the same time of year, normalized for seasonal fluctuations), polar climate data, etc.....and there's no denying the conclusion. Unless, of course, you don't have the use of your own eyes and ears. It's not conjecture or opinion, it's fact, plain and simple.
By the way, Al Gore is a boy scout. He doesn't need to aggrandize himself, he's already been the US Vice-president, he comes from a wealthy family, etc. He can do anything with his life he chooses....and he chooses to champion environmental awareness simply because it's something we should all be a lot more aware of.
Al Gore chooses climate change because it has made his worth, $1.2 million at the end of his vice presidency to over $200 million today. His carbon footprint is 100 times what any of ours is, don't put him up for sainthood just yet, it's the money.

But, your 'deductions' from same appear to 'adjust' to fit your agenda.
Again, what was your stmt after viewing the sat. photo(s) showing the 60% INCREASE in the size of the 'polar ice cap in one year? Why was it again that you considered said increase immaterial?
And, again, how is it "science" can tell us we're facing a new Ice Age in the '70s...and then change that stance to "global warming" a decade later...and then suddenly to switch to "climate change" when it was discovered that the earth's temps in fact HADN'T increased in 17 years?
Do you see any problem here?

The problem with the 'skeptical' view Larry, is that it is far too narrow. Yes, there was more Arctic ice this year, but the overall trend is still downward. Yes, there is a pause in atmospheric warming, but the atmosphere is a very small part of the total global environment (just 2.3%). If we consider the oceans, continents and ice environment, there has been no pause at all and warming is in line with the predictions (I can sow you graphs if you really want...). As for the new Ice Age... If you go back to the source it wasn't all the climate scientists who were saying that. It was a postulation by a couple of researchers that then got picked up by the media and shouted from the rooftops, and then repeated ad infinitum, without the media bothering to check what the scientists were actually saying. Sound familar?
If the Arctic ice continues to increase next winter and the winter after that, and if the oceans stop warming I'll be very happy to admit I have been wrong. I'd love Climate Change to be a myth. I might have more money to put towards my GT40 and my granddaughters could maybe look forward to a better future.

The biggest fallacy of the whole climate change is we the 100 billion ants on the earth think we are the fault of change and some are willing to exploit the guilt of that ant to which more money will change hands for that altruistic belief. Every volcano that erupts causes more "damage" to the climate than 100s of years of us ants. And yet those who have money and have a bigger "carbon footprint" than the poor should pay. Sound familiar? Sound like wealth redistribution? Of course the Elite have the exemption because of their importance. We need them to control us. Without them their would be chaos and a republic. Those that work to achieve will mostly see mediocrity without them. Only a few will swindle their way into the elite status. And when they get there, they will say the same things the old elite do, so the will stay an elite.

It's still a very tiny spec of time in the earths life to make a decision that only seems to be a monetary move to redistribute wealth.
I've never heard a plan, plausible or otherwise to deal with this "supposed threat". All I've heard was taxing the hell out of everyone. Why aren't they going after China, India etc. for all of the pollution they cause. We can peddle our asses everywhere on bicycles, and Asia will negate anything we do.
...then prepare to be 'overjoyed" one day IF - IF - you can get beyond the "oh, no, NO!" S-P-I-N that's sure to accompany actual reality.

just needs to stay roughly the size it's always been historically...'give-or-take' a smidgeon.

I would tend to be slightly cautious when debunking the "Ice Age didn't happen as predicted" theory, as it being only late by 30 odd years, is akin to the length of a marmoset fart being measured after travelling across space from the Ursa Major Constellation.
This World (God bless it) takes it's time over things like this, but when it eventually makes up it's mind, we'll all hear about it in short order.
