Howdy all! I'm eagerly awaiting the delivery of my SLC from Fran here soon.

Figured I'd go ahead and start my own build thread as a place holder for the time being. Fran was able to source me a pre-built G50/01 with an LSD, short tail and flipped for my SLC so I'm pretty stoked about that.

I went ahead and ordered the special clutch/flywheel assembly from Kennedy (KEP). They warned me that a Porsche clutch install "ain't like them domestics" (added southern drawl for effect).

Kidding, they were nice guys.

So, Here's the parts I just picked up from Kennedy.

1-flywheel LS to 87 G50

1-KEP high performance pressure plate 87-89 G50

1-kep high performance street disc 87-89 G50
1-release bearing 87-89 G50
1-kep hardened ring gear 87-89 G50
1-IMI high torque starter for 87-89 G50
1-kep pilot and retainer for LS to G50
1-set of flywheel bolts for LS to G50
1-set clutch bolts

1-pilot tool G50

Sounds like Fran is ramping up production big time - you said you signed the purchase paperwork 2 1/2 weeks ago and you're already anticipating delivery.

At that delivery pace SL-Cs will soon outpace honda civics :lipsrsealed:

Last I heard it was going to be a couple weeks. So, he might be right on schedule. Maybe I'm just wanting it to be so... either way, this should be fun!

Details man. What color did you get? Which rims? What motor do you plan on using?

I got white with the F14 rims in satin black. Should be a white car with black accents with the idea to wrap the car in a year or two with a dark matte/satin gray.

LSX motor with a G50/01 with an LSD.

I was warned about the clutch too...and worried it was gonna be a nightmare. My friend Vidal came over to help me since he did one on his GTM, and I have to say I was worried about nothing. It was the easiest clutch install I've ever done..didn't even use an alignment tool. Just lined it up by eye...and the trans slid right in. (knocking on wood right now)

I'm more worried about the clutch fork procedure... looks a bit ... err.. ticky-tacky.

Thankfully I have a nearby fellow who knows how to do this, so I'll leverage him pretty hard

Does anyone have the sizes for the fuel tank ports?

talking to my buddy at Holley at the moment and need to get parts ordered.

Lower feed port is 1/2" NPT, top return and vent are 3/8" NPT

I have seen the light! After many years of struggling with that stupid catalog I finally gave in and ordered some stuff.

My god that place is awesome. Once you finally find what you're looking for, it's a treasure trove! Got the stuff the next day and so much cheaper than my local hardware store. And in quantities that I needed (over 50 for some bolts).

I'm converted.
