fran at rcr put a 4.6l in my gt40. heads are so big it barely fit! couldn't close the rear deck though. extensive body work would be required. then: ah the headers: the angle of the head makes it very(!) difficult to install any headers.
the cast iron block is 108 lbs heavier than the alum block. if you look for a '93 or older
Lincoln mark viii, you will find that those blocks ford used were made by teksid, an italian company that makes blocks for Ferrari. according to sean hyland, these blocks can make up to 2000 hp. whereas the windsor or romeo(?) blocks (american) can only take up to 1200 hp.
