Dry Sump Systems

I am still thinking about using a dry sump system for my 331/347 SBF. I have looked at several companies - Armando's, Valley Head Service, and ARE.

I guess a 4 stage system with a 5 gl tank would suffice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bill,

I have an ARE cast aluminum pan and it is gorgeous. It is only 4 inches deep (ARE has a shallower one but it would not take the 3.75 stroke crank). I went with a five stage Peterson pump so I could suck oil off each crank through. As for the tank 5 gallons is really too big. You will have 20 quarts of oil. A 2 to 3 gallon is really a better size IMHO.

I agree.
I am using an Aviaid dry sump system on my Kirkham It is a 4 stage pump with a 3 gallon tank...and manages to support a 482 ci engine just fine.
