Only because I'm not sure if our self imposed time limit talking about results is up.
No doubt now that Massa is number two at Ferrari. Webber is number two at Red Bull, but who is number two at Mclaren? IMHO it should be Hamilton, Button is much more the thinking intelligent one.
If Red bull decide to give Webber a car that works before Vettel has an insurmountable lead (which I doubt will happen) it would make for much more exciting racing.

Good Point Pete. How about Monday midday gmt which allows most of us around the welt in far flung places to have got up a head of steam on the boiler and replayed our betamaxes?

The replay was shown in the US at 15:30 hrs EST on SPEED. The race was reviewed again at 21:00 hrs EST on the Dave Despain Show. I would venture most use Tivo or their cable recorders here in the states. Smartphones linked to F1 NEWS released the finish results at 2:31AM on the 10th.
I don't understand why there were two penalties. The one on Hamilton I understand, but Fernando?
Sidebar-I got my tickets for the Canadian GP and should be able to pick up my GT500 SuperSnake from Sean Hyland if all comes together with Shelby.

Grady - it's really easy to puncture a rear if you manage to ride your wing endplate
in such a manner that it is at the front of the tyre of your opponent i.e. the part of the tyre descending to the contact area and the tyre has to ride over the endplate. Again it's almost impossible to do if the tyre surface is ascending i.e. just been in contact - the endplate will often be snapped off and thrown quite a distance. Now - it's a lot quicker to do a lap if all you have broken is an endplate and all you need is a new nose cone, and your foe - Hamilton in this case - has a right rear puncture and has to limp around slowly. Especially if it happens at the end of the pit straight. I looked at it a few times now and I'm sure it was deliberate but Alonso got the wrong side of Hamiltons tyre.

With all of the penalties, where does that leave the final ranking? I thought that Hamilton did a superb job, just too many times in the pits like Webber. Button is always good to tires and tire management. That could be good for him this year as the tires seem to be.......not good.

LEWIS HAMILTON had a track bust-up with old rival Fernando Alonso in Malaysia yesterday.
The British ace was dropped a place to eighth after stewards ruled he had changed direction too often as he battled his Ferrari rival.
Spaniard Alonso got the same 20-second time penalty for crashing into Hamilton but it did not cost him a vital place.
Hamilton said: "I was in with the stewards so I knew I was going to get the penalty. I always assume the worst-case scenario.
"I am not allowed to move more than once.
"Do I class it as dangerous? No.
"But that's the rule so I got a 20-second penalty.
"He hit me and got a 20-second penalty but it didn't really do anything for him.
"That doesn't work out as a penalty the same as I had. But that's racing."
Alonso accused Hamilton of being 'too aggressive' as he tried to fend him off at around 200mph despite struggling with worn tyres.
Alonso got too close at one stage and hit Hamilton's right rear tyre.
He needed a replacement front nose but still went on to finish sixth.
Hamilton and Alonso had several bust-ups in the Brit's debut season in 2007.

I think Vettel will go on to rewrite all the record books in terms of winning every thing there is to win and back to back race victories and back to back Championships. I think he will eventually reach a record that will probably never ever be beaten.
When asked about Schumachers back to back race victories record of seven races in Bild he retorted "Really - only seven?"

Vettel is showing more maturity in his racing. But then again, he hasn't really been in any traffic has he?
David, I think that you are right about Vettel. He is a great driver in a great car. Hard to beat that combination. It really makes me wonder what would be the outcome if Hamilton or some others were driving a Red Bull car.

IMHO Vettel would still win all. Vettel is the favoured son, the white haired boy. Certainly the one favoured by the boss of Red Bull.
Remember last season when they took the wing from Webber's car and gave it to Vettel? Remember in the last race Webber was faster in P1, P2, and P3, but then come Qualifying and the race mysteriously Webber has problems with the car. Conspiracy theory? You bet! Webber will have problems until Vettel has an unassailable lead, then they will disappear to help RB win the constructors championship.

I think the 3 best drivers in F1 clearly are Hamilton, Vettel and Alonso. They just have something the others don't.
The next level -- very close, but just slightly lacking -- are Massa (and he was once as good as the others), Kubica (hope he comes back), Button and Webber. Those guys can win but all are just slightly off the others.

Conspiracy in F1? Haeresis - but it is a thought. I think this 'thing' called Formula One is in danger of being labelled a sport and people - like us - are becoming deluded into thinking every circuit they go to and set up the circus is another level playing surface.
Go and bet some money if you will, but the odds are disappearing quickly.
It's a money making spectacle with some lovely machines and some lovely lovely noises and a few reasonably good looking paid tarts mostly standing around gasping when the cameras point their way. At the end of the day, its a load of cars whizzing round and round ... and round.......and

One of my friends watches F1 religiously, and I asked him once if he had ever watched NASCAR (he's from North Carolina, where it's very popular) He said he could get the same effect from pouring Skittles into the toilet and flushing it, watching them go around...

I totaly agree with your driver rankings.
If I ran an F1 team and could choose any drivers.......I'll take Alonso! He's a racer, always gives 100%.
For my second driver, I'll take Vettel.
Can you imagine those two in one team. I think it would get ugly quick. Can you say Senna/Prost?

Nothing wrong with paid tarts mate, at least at the formula 1 level. A.K.A.
Very expensive and they know what to do and are good at it. A bit like the drivers if you think about it? Oh, and they are all gorgeous, the tarts, not the drivers.
