Also note in the description, that it is a right hand drive, but the pictures show left hand drive. Further more it lists it as a manual transmission, but the pictures show a automatic shifter. Then the paper on the floor has a US phone number on it for the transport company. Possibly when the transport company imported the car to Ireland, they also imported the palm trees.

This is the message I got from the sick bas**rd

"Hello

First of all I want to thank you for contacting me and your interest for the car. I know that are numerous offers on eBay and I'm glad that you choose to contact me regarding the car. It was my son`s car... he died 3 months ago and this car will be my gift in memory of my son , ( he would be very happy if i find a person who will love and take care of this car in the same way he did ).I will sell the car to the first buyer that will arange the payment through eBay .If you are able to make the payment today or tomorrow you will be the next owner of this car.You have to know that the car is 100% working and looking very good, no scratches or any kind of damage,it has a clear title. The price for the car is £ 9.000 ( includes shipping ) because I want to close a quick and smooth deal with a serious person. About the shipping I can tell you that will take no more than 4-5 days.I decided that the payment be completed using Ebay security because I want to take this opportunity to assure you that this deal is 100% LEGIT.
I am looking forward to your reply.

Thank You!"

Hope he rots in hell

Looks like the same car/pics that was being offered out of slovakia this time last year. The son was selling on behalf of his late father if I remember correctly, Reincarnation is alive & well!

I ALWAYS report these scumbags but sadly it seems ebay are no longer protecting their customers.
I have reported this listing eBay.co.uk: 2005 Triumph Rocket III (item 280072213548 end time 15-Feb-07 21:28:57 GMT)
as a scam FIVE TIMES over the course of a week and a half, but all I get is the standard ebay automated reply and the listing continues. If anybody is in any doubt, here is the reply I got from the scammer today

"Hello there and thanks for your interest in my bike .
I must apologize for the delay in the response, but I am literally overwhelmed by the number of offers..

The price for the 2005 Triumph Rocket III is 2500 GBP + shipping to your door. The bike is in perfect condition as shown in the ad and has no mechanical problems .No scratches or dents, all services have been made at a Triumph Service in time.

I have graduated the University of Southampton, School of Medicine and just returned home to Netherlands . I brought the bike here. The bike is still registered in the UK and when I tried to register it here , I saw that it was very dificult and I had a lot of taxes to pay , I`have
decided to sell it back in the UK , but my loss will be your gain.
The bike will be insured during transportation and it will be delivered in front of your door. The payment will be made through Ebay and only after you will receive the bike I will receive the payment.

For an accurate shipping cost please include your YOUR FULL NAME AND
ADDRESS in your next email and I will be more than glad to complete this transaction with you.

All the best! "

I hate these scumbags, but I hate ebay more for letting them continue when we, the members are doing all their policing for them and they STILL don't take any notice.

Simon,

I just sent the following nasty-gram to eBay here in the US via the security department. I referenced this thread and the eBay-UK auctions. Don't know if it will do any good, but at least we tried.

Lynn

eBay.co.uk: item 280072213548
eBay.co.uk: item 160078275458

email tool would not accept these numbers. (And don't tell me it's eBay UK! It has "eBay" on it so it is YOUR responsibility.)

Why are obviously fradulant auctions allowed to continue. Please reference this discussion: http://www.gt40s.com/forum/paddock/20630-fun-scammers.html

in which the fraudulence of these auctions is pointed out AND the contents of emails received from the fraudulent sellers is listed. The gentleman who listed the auctions, after being asked if has reported them to eBay, responds: "I ALWAYS report these scumbags but sadly it seems ebay are no longer protecting their customers. I have reported this listing eBay.co.uk: 2005 Triumph Rocket III (item 280072213548 end time 15-Feb-07 21:28:57 GMT) as a scam FIVE TIMES over the course of a week and a half, but all I get is the standard ebay automated reply and the listing continues."

We certainly can't expect eBay to read every auction, although it seems like you do when it might mean lost revenue for eBay, but, when a report is submitted (repeatedly), this shows a blatant disregard for the buyers without whom eBay wouldn't exist.

I've seen these on ebay all the time, and have reported them as well. The guy skoops pics from other locations and just lists them as his. I feel sorry for the poor sucker that actually bids on these scams. I would like to find this guy and my 2x4 and give him a wood shampoo!

A mate of mine tells me that this looks like the guy who was also flogging a Chevy Stingray for peanuts recently.
I wonder who got stung.

Both of these are off now, I tried at 22:00 UK time. Looks like your effors have paid off gents. Well done. I just hate these low life. There should be some way of getting hold of them and twisting thier bloody arms off!!!

With regard to the above scumbags has anyone had any dealings with Coast To Coast Auto Salvage in the US.
I was looking for a G52 which they claimed they had but after the money was sent no further contact and no G52.

Dear Lynn
Thanks for your reply.
At this stage I have filed formal complaints with all the authorities you mentioned and more but they are toothless tigers and do nothing more than make a noise but no results.
What I really need is someone to act on my behalf legally and take these people to task.
I would be willing to pay a percentage of the recovered money to compensate for time and trouble

Dimi,

I have sent you a PM trying to set up some help for you - regarding your situation with Coast-To-Coast - with a forum member who lives in Redding (Paolo Cedro is in the greater Redding area.) I will take your lack of response, despite having been logged on several times, to mean that you don't need help with this situation. Good luck with it.
