Mosley and the F1 cabal

I'm admittedly confused.
Mosely is backing out of his commitment to stand down from the FIA, no doubt as a means to retain power. No surprise there.
"I am under pressure now from all over the world to stand for re-election," said Mosley. "I do genuinely want to stop, but if there is going to be a big conflict with the car industry, for example with the Fota teams, then I won't stop."
The stunner for me is who on earth wants Mosley as "Emperor for life"?

I read somewhere that Mosley doesn't do losing face so as soon as the word was out he was out the door as part of a deal, that makes him lose face, so he steps back inside the door and refuses to budge again. Snag is, you play like this, one day you are going to lose and it will be a much bigger thing than if you went quietly the first time around.

Very true Malcolm. He could have just stayed quiet when the sex party thing hit the headlines instead of alerting everyone in the whole wide world by instigating the law suit.

A very self centred man with no sense of dignity or propriety.

Do you think this is a Dad thing? Very similar recklessness...

No, I think it stems from Max and Bernie building up an empire very successfully that suited them and their willingness to acheive at whatever cost. Then we have the situation where both are at the latter end of their working lives and they know nothing else except iron clad control. Not wishing to put my family business in the same vein as F1 but I am now 3rd generation chairman of the our company. The average age of retirement for this position is 81. The issue is letting go when you are in such strong control. This is what Max and Bernie face but on a massive scale. I went to a seminar with Ken Tyrrell on family business and had a good chat with him afterwards. Succession is a major issue in these situations and leaving on a high note is important. Maggie and Tony also suffered this problem I think.

Mosley and Ecclestone are ruthless guys who lack a sense of decency. Both got where they are through ruthless tactics rather than effective leadership skills. Mosley is an old lech and probably a closet nazi. What 70 year old guy acts out nazi sexual charades with a bunch of 20 year old woman who are paid to pander to his sick fantasies? Max Mosely. He's a total freak. He's certainly not qualified to lead the FIA. I don't know of one person that actually wants him to remain in any position of visibility or control in F1. The man is seriously deluded. He's sick.

Ecclestone isn't much better. His public nazi comment shows staggeringly poor judgement and poor character. He has made numerous other equally disgusting public comments - "women should all come in white like other domestic appliances" What kind of freak says such things in public? He's just as sick and deluded as Mosley.

It's simply amazing that we have two such losers in the top positions of power and control in F1. The teams should get together and give the finger to those two by starting a new regulating body with a proper constitution. And, if all the teams joined together in that manner they would have the power to make the contractual obligations held by Ecclestone completely irrelevant and meaningless.

F1 needs some proper leadership. Time for a change.
