Navy yard Killings

Well, yet again a mentally ill person committed mass murder. The "shotgun" (Bidens weapon of choice) didn't commit the killings, the mentally ill person with a lengthy background killed innocent people. The same security firm that cleared Snowden, cleared this guy. Of course the media immediately said it was an AR15. The mentally ill should be flagged in the system for weapons purchase. The ACLU should be slithering out of the woodwork.

This guy was all around this area going ballistic for weeks. Read about the incident in the airport in Norfolk, VA, which was reported to airport security, who didn't do fuck-all.

Our government's complex security apparatus seems incapable of spying on anyone other than ordinary folks who just go to work, go home, raise kids, and work on cars. I guess we are easy targets. How the hell DIDN'T this asshat come to the serious attention of anyone that we are paying to keep us safe? Not that we are safe.

AL, do you really want to do this?

Don't complain when people disagree.

Yes Al,

It was a mentally ill person who went out and bought a gun.

If you want to keep your guns......

We need a list of anyone who has had mental problems, drunk driving, drunk in public, violence or has been seen to be acting strangely..........

They and anyone who lives with them should be banned from buying guns!

No more gun show bullshit, all buyers must go through the background check.

Any sales or transfer of a gun without a background check is a fellony for both parties.

Now......

We must have a list of all gun owner, so if they begin to have mental problems, act violently, act strangely or anyone in their home does, we can remove the guns from a dangerous situation.

You complain that it is not the guns, you say it's crazy people.......

Well prove it! Help us keep the guns from crazy, violent people.

If you do not take some steps to stop this unworkable situation, you might just loose your gun rights.

I have a better Idea lets sneak over to the mentally unstables dwelling, lock their doors and pop their car tires, thus making it virtually impossible for them to get around and kill people..

Jim, Any gun shop or gun show I've been to in AZ runs a background check before purchase. If you have a Carry Permit in AZ you have already been fingerprinted and checked by the DPS prior to being given the Permit. If you don't have a permit, your info is phoned into the DPS and a background check is done prior to the sale, usually a 2 day process. I don't have a problem with most of what you said.
Have you wondered why there is not much coverage of this incident? Not the coverage of incidents involving AR type weapons. Actually a person with a pump shotgun with OObuck loads can do a lot more damage than a AR15 with a 30 shot clip.

Al, this was from FOX news. This data sounds nothing like your data, does it?

40 Percent of Guns Are Sold Without Background Checks,

  • 40 Percent of Guns Are Sold Without Background Checks, Because of People Like Larry Pratt
Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, surprised Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace on Sunday by claiming that universal background checks on gun purchases are a waste of time and provides a "‘false"’ sense of security. He proposed, instead saying that legislators should focus on eliminating gun-free zones in schools and other areas.
Wallace was visibly surprised, pointing out that approximately 40% of gun sales happen without any screening. While federally licensed gun dealers are required to conduct background checks on gun purchasers to prevent dangerous persons, such as felons and the mentally ill, from gaining access to firearms. More than 6 million gun sales are unscreened – those from gun transfers, "“private"” sellers, and purchases at gun shows or made online do not fall under the requirement, a hole in the law often referred to as the "“Gun Show Loophole."

Come on Jim (C). Studies have shown that of all the networks in which the viewers are most misinformed (albeit by a small margin), its FOX news. So don't pull that one out. We have nothing to fear. The country with the most guns, and gun deaths just needs more guns to fix the problem. And of course, we mustn't do background checks because innocent people will be targeted by a government that will want our guns back, and blaa blaa blaa bla. Ya got suckered into another ridiculous string.

Terry,

I try and use Fox data whenever I can, that way I don't get accused of using liberal data that can't be believed.

"Child hit with rock in school". The NRA calls for all children to carry rocks, that way anyone who throws a rock would immediately be pummeled.

Problem solved!

Link(s) to such "studies"?

But first, were any of them done by anyone other than some far left outfit? If 'no', you needn't bother, sir.

Jim, I don't no of any online site that does not require the weapon to be sent to a licensed Federal firearms dealer in the buyers area who handles the sale though the usual background checks. I'm sure there are illegal private sales. I wasn't aware that the NRA was backing the use of rocks. Are there rock lobbyists? :)

Didn't we beat this dead horse in CT, AZ,and CO? At least there wasn't an AR-15 or 33 shell magazine involved.

Sad that we have to morn dead. Thank g-d they did not let the bstrd live. The media circus would have been nuts. And quick thinking Pelosi did not let this one go to waste. Or was it Feinstein?

Its kinda easy for a wacko to bring a gun on a base if you don't tell them. They do random checks all the time. I used to go on base as contractor a lot. Never ever took a piece in. If you are caught even accidentally carrying, jail time and 10k fine. I even worked at the station that wacko had come from. Don't remember seeing him.

Marc,

I think the percent of unbalanced gun owners is about the same as unbalanced people the total population. The percent is small, the number is large.

Oy, again. You guys are making me relearn Yiddish.

On this one, I think I am with Al, not Jim. This man was going around acting crazy for a long time. There were at least two incidents involving guns and others in which guns did not figure. It's true that crazy people kill other people, and guns don't go off unless there's a person attached to them making them do it. But what do you do about all the crazy people already out there? Like the ones I see every day I work in the ER?

This man should not have been allowed to buy a gun. The problem is the regulation of gun sales, not the guns themselves.

sorry, but,....if any have the idea to kill,....what do you think he want to do this????,...

do you think he buys a car to kill 10 in a scool ????

do you think he buys a bike to kill 5 in a navy-home ????

do you think he buys a ski to kill 3 in a shopingmall ????

or do you think the first he is thinking is to buy a weapon, a gun, a automatik rifle, c4, a granat,......or any other weapon??????

real sorry, but sometimes i dont understand

Agree with Jim(R), this is a real let-down of our local state and federal govt security. This was probably the most blatant one but in most of the recent mass-killings, there have been distinct warning signs that were ignored by officials or those close to the killer.

And yes, you can ban hand guns and assault rifles all you want, the deadliest weapon within 20 yards is a good old pump shotgun.
