Long time lurker here. For me, I would like to see something more basic and cost effective. A lot of the cars suggested here if produced by RCR would have limited appeal and very expensive to produce IMHO.
I would like to see something like the Scarab or Lister but keep it simple and cost effective. These cars are front engine so no expensive transaxle to deal with and no $2000 clutch assemblies and $800 starters. The Tremic transmissions are durable and cheap. The TKO600 will handle 600 foot pounds of torque which is more than 99% of the potential buyers would ever need. I don’t need billet suspension pieces. Use the C5 or C6 suspension including diff, brakes, and steering. These cars are plentiful as donors and a lot of the parts are available new, and rebuilt parts are cheap. Heck you can get a complete low mileage C5 or C6 roller complete with engine and trans for $8 to $10k on Ebay. Forget the expensive custom windshield. A Jaguar XJS windshield would look great on one of these cars or use a simple plexi windscreen. I bet a car built with these components would give you 99% of the performance of what’s currently offered by RCR at a fraction of the current cost to build and still look great.
Give me the RCR quality fiberglass and chassis at a price that’s more affordable and I think RCR will be looking for a bigger building to keep up with the huge surge in production.
Fran, if you build this car you can sign me up as the first buyer.
