Tilton 3 chamber brake reservoir cap upgrade.

The Tilton 3 chamber brake reservoir has embossed on the body "FOR RACE USE ONLY". Seems the reason for this is the fact the caps are vented. Race cars get the fluid replaced often. If you are using the car for more of a street use and only plan to change the fluid once every few years than this modification might be for you. This will convert the caps to a sealed accordion type found on most oem cars.
The caps inner funnel section is removed and then the remaining lip inside the cap is ground down. Finally, install Dorman #42081 (from a Dodge Challenger). Then simply reinstall the cap. This modification was from a member (OB6) on thefactoryfiveforum. The pictures are his.

I use the Tilton single chamber reservoirs for brake, clutch and hydraulic lift. I'll purchase one of these Dorman #42081 and see if it can work with them as well. From the picture I just posted......the caps are the same. Just the centre section that gets popped off is different.

I have the Tilton reservoir (since the Wilwoods are @#$#@@$# pieces of @#$#@# that leak like a @#$@# @#$@# $@#$@#$@#).

It is vented as you say, but I didn't change the brake fluid for probably 10 years and I didn't think the fluid or braking degredation was any worse than sealed systems on my OEM cars ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not saying it's a bad idea, just not really sure it buys you much
