A large displacement SBC will save you considerable weight over a BBC. My black Mirge has a 383 ci Donovan aluminum block (SBC copy) and I find that it is is quite satisfactory. This engine weighs 400 lbs complete.
yes, that will definitely fit - it has small block dimensions basically (though mounts are different). But given the build, I'm guessing that they optimized for NA, with high compression and tight ring gaps. Not sure it would play well with forced injection. Though NA, depending on cam, this thing is probable good for 650HP. And it weighs about 430lbs.
