More Global Cooling/Warming/Change hoax.

" When confronted with an obviously broken weather station that was reading way too hot, they replaced the faulty sensor — but refused to adjust the bad readings it had already taken. And when dealing with "the pause" in global surface temperatures that is in its 19th year, the agency threw away satellite-sensed sea-surface temperatures, substituting questionable data that showed no pause."
The Latest Climate Kerfuffle | RealClearPolicy

"But a few highlights are obvious. First, Goetz finds that approximately 92% (or even more, depending on how you calculate it) of US surface temperature data consists of estimated or altered values. Very little raw data finds its way into the warmists’ climate models–which, of course, is the way they want it. Second, the adjustments that are made to the U.S. data consistently skew the numbers as we have described many times before–they try to make the present look warmer, compared with the past."

From The Washington Post

The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulafft, at Bergen, Norway.
Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the Gulf Stream still very warm.
Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelt which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.
Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.
.

I must apologize,
By the way I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922, as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post ----- yes, 93 years ago.

Wonder if any of Al Gore's relatives were making money on that?

As many of us have said ad nauseam - the planet's temps have gone up and down since its 1st day of its existence. 'Always HAVE...always WILL.

Given that, what sense is there in spending TRILLIONS of dollars employing what will in the end prove to be a feckless "plan" to change that...aside from making a handful of "warmers" MULTI-BILLIONAIRES, that is?

If the ice melts the seas will rise, what a load of cods, if the ice melts the sea levels will drop, any half witt knows that ice displaces more volume than water.

Very true Colonel, but there talking about the polar ice cap which is predominantly ice on top of water is it not.

Not if it's sitting on rocks John.....:stunned:

Both good points.

The determining factor might end up being how much ice is on land vs. how much is in the ocean. If it gets hot enough to melt land-based ice it darned sure will be hot enough to melt the sea ice (let's set aside which might melt quicker over what period of time, blah, blah, blah). So, then the question becomes which one has the greater mass, net, net, net. If they're roughly the same - no problem-o! :smug:

I'll be here all week. Try the liver. And remember tip your server handsomely.

Ice actually displaces the same amount of water that's produced when it melts. Put ice in a glass, fill it to the top with water, and when it melts it will still be at the top. Keith's correct, melting ice on land will make the water rise. It all boils down to the same thing, if the people don't believe, scare them into believing.

But alcohol by volume will be reduced. Less bang for the buck.

This is great science. Send me a Research Grant.

It might be the same amount of alcohol, but it will be "watered down" and will not have the same effect as a stronger mix.

To wit: 1 pint of Scotch drank down in one go would most likely kill you whereas a drink made up of 1 X pint of Scotch mixed with 1 x pint of water would most likely not.

Since you do not partake Al, I am happy to provide my person as a Test Mule to prove a theory...

Colonel your are far to nice a person to offer yourself as a sacrifice like that alone, i think its only fitting that i also should share some of the burden.

If a global rise in temperature is enough to melt the ice caps surely the same phenomenon would lead to considerably more sea being evaporated into the rain clouds. Or am I missing somfink ??

I am always deeply touched by the continuous kind offers of assistance you get on this magnificent forum.
