Foreign policy experts say that NK has much of their conventional weapons, which are alot in sheer numbers, pointed directly at US ally South Korea, because: a) NK and SK are technically still at war and b) the threat of destroying Seoul in a matter of seconds or minutes, is what keeps the US from just marching into NK and killing their leader.
"

S.K would be hit by N.K.s conventional weapons in the event IT were attacked by whoever.

N.K. has about 30 bazillion conventional weapons aimed at S.K. 24/7/365...supposedly as a deterrent to said attacks.

Sort of like blackmailing the world, huh?

I don't think talking is ever going to make any difference in what Kim Jong Un wants...he wants to flex his nuclear muscles to prove to the world how "bad" he is!

Let's suppose the U.S. made the first strike (perish that thought!!!!) and took out Kim Jong Un and his band of "merry" men? Would N.K. still want to annihilate S.K. without him?

IMHO, whatever is done about N.K. needs to be sanctioned by the United Nations. N.K. can't nuke every country in the whole world!

I didn't avoid your question. Your question is a hypothetical that removes the only and best solution: diplomacy. Talk.

"Diplomacy" and "talk" is/are the "best solution(s)"???! Really!

As I said - BEEN THERE...DONE THAT. Result from 30-40 years or so of meandering down that path? Utter failure. N. Korea is now a nuke power.

So, my 'takeaway' here is you have no alternative solutions(s) of your own to offer.

What's Trump's solution?

Only Trump knows that at this point...and, as he's said many times, he's not going to broadcast/announce his intentions in advance of implementing 'em in any situation...but, I'd bet my last dime his "solution" will involve more than "diplomacy" and "talk".

I would doubt that Trump has a plan, Rod. He can’t plan anything except his multiple vacations at MarLago...oh, yeah, and his next golf game (he raised hell about the amount of golf B.O. played...and has managed in his short time as POTUS to play more golf than B.O.)

He’s clueless...and to make things worse he has all of these “Yes” men telling him that it is impossible for the POTUS to commit a crime AND HE BELIEVES THEM.

His refusal to tell the public what he will do and when is just a cover-up for the fact that he realizes he’s in over his head. He doesn’t have plan #1!!!

We have avoided war for 64 years. In the "glass half full" category, that's success. Your answer to your own question is "only Trump knows"? That's like OMG laughable.

"Only Trump knows"? Puh-leeze, he's a F'ing Moron. An idiot. Incompetent boob. He's knows nothing. He doesn't read nor understand the written word. The absolute best case scenario for him is that he hopefully doesn't slur his words at this point in his Presidency. Like he did yesterday.....United Shursh-ates. What a :loser:

Randy, we'll be lucky if the missle is knocked down. The interceptor program is not fool proof. And South Korean will be hit with conventional weapons killing millions of people in the capital of Seoul.

Do you really think that we would be the only ones to try to knock down that/those missles?
Japan & South Korea alone would be great allies that have our collective back as they both stand to incur tremendous collateral damage from our counter-attacks on North Korea. It is in their best interest to knock down any North Korean missles headed in our direction.

This is one thing I will side with Trump on. It makes no sense to tip your hand to the world and let them know your true intentions. It’s been something that has stuck in my craw for many years now. He / Cabinet may well have plans worked out that we’re not privy to. I’m __okay__ with that (sort of) as the adversary should be in the dark as well...
I would be “more” okay with it if I had more confidence in our leaders.....
History can be a real bugger sometimes and it will be hard for Trump to deal with Ultimate failure...

Having a military upbringing I believe in not telegraphing your plans. Let the field generals deal with that if it creates a problem.

Trump has no trust Randy...from firing important investigators to requiring subordinates pledge loyalty reveals the depth of his distrust and explains his insistence on involving family, even though it may be a prohibited practice. His feeling of omnipotence has proven, sadly, to be true. As long as he involves cabinet experts and takes their advice I would certainly agree with you.
I’m not sure he can do it, but I’m trying to understand and develop some empathy with this bully bravada he displays. The area in which I now reside is very conservative. Trump will be equally perplexed, I’m sure!!

Cheers!

I've observed that the truth and real world reality often are to you.

...he's a F'ing Moron. An idiot. Incompetent boob. He's knows nothing. He doesn't read nor understand the written word.

...and yet he's worth billions...and was elected president over 17-or-so other GOPs as well as Sanders and Billary. That would certainly seem to lend credence to your evaluation of him alright.

Do you really think Russia and China will allow NK to launch a nuclear attack, and have a nuclear cloud come over their borders from our retaliation strike?

He's worth billions? Puh-leeze. Prove it. He hasn't released his taxes. A page of his 2005 taxes were published and that one page revealed that he lost a billion that year. And he's a known liar about everything including his wealth.

And yes, he's lied, insulted, obstructed, colluded and conspired with Russia to win the presidency. And now Mueller will take him down. And I for one cannot wait for his impeachment to happen. Alternatively, his health deteriorates further and the 25th Amendment is invoked. He's already slurring words: United Shursh-ates.

You're going to see a mass exodus in the next couple of months, because most people in his administration agree with Rex Tillerson and think he's an F'ing Moron. Or McMaster just calls him an idiot. Take your pick.

His TAXES don't indicate his net worth...and because he 'lost a billion THIS YEAR' in no way indicates he didn't EARN, say, $10 billion LAST year...or what he'll earn NEXT year...or the next...or the next.

...he's lied, insulted, obstructed, colluded and conspired with Russia to win the presidency.

Change the "he" to "she" and you have Billary. And we K-N-O-W she, the DNC and her campaign DID conspire with Russian agents thru Fusion GPS to come up with the phony dossier on Trump used to try to discredit HIM and put HER in the White House.

Where's the P-R-O-O-F Trump or his campaign colluded with Russia? There IS NONE.

I fully expect some people to "exit". It happens in every admin after the 1st year.

So far, two campaign officials have been indicted and two have pleaded guilty. And they're cooperating. There are reams and reams of evidence, but investigations using grand juries are performed in secret. Mueller has the proof and more people are going to be indicted or will plead quilty to crimes. And it's headed towards Kushner, Hicks, Donnie Jr. and eventually Trump. And the world will rejoice.

Senators are now openly calling for Trump to resign. And the House has already had one vote for impeachment. Just keep your pants on Larry, there's a day of reckoning coming for Trump and his Trumpettes.

Trump is a liar. He also inherited money from his father. His father gave him 1,000,000 to start his business and we know his businesses have gone bankrupt 4 times. No one knows how much he's worth, but we know he lies about his wealth, he's received hundreds of millions of loans from Russian backed banks. But now Deutsche Bank's records have been subpoenaed, so hopefully his net worth will come to light with the Mueller investigation. I'm sure it's much less than we the public think.

And we all know the exodus will be far greater than what is typical. Keep spinning Larry.

I can hear the chant now. "Lock him up. Lock him up." Alternatively, that awful diet of 12 diet Cokes per day, the KFC and the McDonalds, the stress and the lack of exercise are leading to his physical and mental deterioration. And then the 25th Amendment is invoked.

'Involving PERSONAL misdeeds committed BEFORE Trump had even announced his candidacy!

Mueller has the proof ...

Really! If he DID - gleeful libs such as yourself would have made DARNED SURE we knew about it by now. Instead, you're just, "ASSUMING facts not in evidence", as lawyers would say.

Senators are now openly calling for Trump to resign...And the House has already had one vote for impeachment.

DEMOCRATs...following the lead of that pompous buffoon Rep. Green in the House. And, BTW, the "impeachment" move was SHOT DOWN IN FLAMES by the House...which (surprise, surprise) you neglected to mention.

Trump is a liar...'money from his father...bankrupt 4 times...(blah, blah, blah and more blah).

You and your ilk have been beating that drum to no avail since he announced his candidacy. Buuuuut, yeeeeew just keep right on keepin' on, there, Rod.

And we all know the exodus will be far greater than what is typical.

You "KNOW" nothing...you 'HOPE'. "Keep spinning", Rod.

Your mantra may as well be (to bastardize the words of Bobby Kennedy): "Some men see things as they are and say 'Why'? I see things that never were and say, 'oh YES they...uh...'were'/is/are/'do be' (whatever)."

'Stepping OFF this treadmill now...'TIRED of it.

U.S. military must accept transgender recruits by Jan. 1, judge rules

I don't have a problem with the transgender part, I do have a problem with the US tax payer footing the sex change bill once they are in the military.

I agree with that, Al...we (the United States and our military) should not have to finance gender reassignment surgery unless it would be a requirement for the position.

Having been raised in a military family and having seen how cheap the military chooses to be, I would sincerely doubt the military would pay...but they might well allow the soldier to dress/appear to be the opposite gender if they wanted to do so.

Just curious, Al...I’ve not heard anything that makes me believe the military would be subject to such a requirement...have you?

Cheers!
