Suggestions for storing body clips

I am still in planning stages to get my car and trying to think of ways to store the body clips while building the car. I’ve read that storing the, vertically on a wall is a bad idea so wondering what others have done with limited space? has anyone built a cradle that takes up the least amount of floor space? Any other ideas would be great also. Thanks!

I think the absolute best way to store those clips is to build bucks that simulate the clip being mounted on a chassis. Keep them protected from heat sources and the sun in general. The most creative bucks I've seen involved pulley systems that hoisted the loaded bucks up to the ceiling.

I made a stand on castors (with brakes) for the rear clip of my project as below. I made the lower part with a curve to fit the shape of the clip and padded it with sponge rubber. You unscrew the wood block in the center of the support to release the tail. It works well. Position the stand behind the car, with the clip open, lift the clip off the car in the vertical position and just move it straight to the stand. Takes 2 people to do however .

something like that would be great. I really need some way to store them out of the way. Do you have any pictures of it without the clip on it? Thanks!!

If you support the clips in the same place as on the car with wooden internal frame you can use small rope pulleys to hang it from the ceiling (from the wooden frame) of the shed..... sorry I mean garage..... ;-)

And when would simply storing a clip standing upright be acceptable? I assume this is all related to newly made body parts and people are concerned the glass is not fully cured? Are we suggesting the glass panels would deform over a couple months? I must have seen 100's of body clips, noses, etc. in pit areas standing up, laying upside down, and just about in every conceivable place with no body bucks supporting them. What am I missing here?

Here's what I use for my SLC clips. Being on a track car they spend a lot of time off the chassis.
