It seems you made a mistake on the Argon price. A 20m3 Argon 200bars should be in the range of 100£.
Anyway, and for this type of car that will be used a very small quantity of hours in a 10 or 20 years period, you probably may skip the Argon flush on the inside during welding. Yes , the inside will probably rust but it is proportionnal to the frequency and time the car will be used.

prob correct on argon..
I don't use it much, so I use the SGS BOTTLES and they are £150 for 20 litres and available locally.
Purging gave a much better finish inside the pipes.
