RCR in Australia does not ""just bring in stuff from the USA""...Craig White puts a lot of effort into the Australian RCR cars and RCR Australia is very open to working on other engine programmes...we have many LS engines in GT40's, along with Mod and big blocks
I have a Coyote in the shop here in the USA...but not a S/C version...so expect it to be an available option in the non too distant future...

Yeah but I'm talking about the supercharged V8 developed by Prodrive in Australia. Having a Coyote in the shop in the USA won't help. Sorry bout being so blunt, but I really want to know if you have plans for this Aussie developed V8. Thanks. Cam.
Like I said give Craig a call....but I bet if you take your Australian Coyote S/C over to RCR Australia you will find that we will fit one into a chassis once your deposit cheque clears...
Unless the Prodrive engine does not use the same block and head architecture, from what I have been told they do...a mock up here from Ford USA does certainly help...and a friend of mine was instrumental in the devolpment of the engine too...so a little inside help never hurts..

DRB GT40's take plenty of different engine options from 5.0 , Modulars, LS and a Super charged Lexus V8.
The Coyote is to new in Australia for Aussie Kit builders to get seriously into fitting them yet. But I bet you they are looking at them.
Best bet is to get a hold of a Steel chassis car so you can modify engine mounting points and do the conversion yourself. DRB and RF have a big gap bewteen their legs that would just about take any combo. If a Mod motor fits anything will.

That engine was only officially released in a car October 7th 2010....oh ...Today...guess you dont have one yet either....:thumbsup:...send me yours and I will make your car specially for you here in the USA...at no extra cost....wonder if the "other" guys would do that for ya...

RCR Australia have pretty extensive facilities and quite a large workforce. We have been fortunate enough to continue to growing during difficult global financial circumstances.
As Fran indicated the Aussie RCR's are customised for local market expectations and regulations for registration compliance. Significant development has been performed here in conjunction with fantastic support from Fran. The kits to spec'd to suit the market position we are targetting here.
The RCR-40's use a very clever engine mounting system with bolt in tig welded laser cut steel mounting plates. So all the chassis are the same and only the engine mounting plates are unique to each engine/transaxle combination. This system also allows the owner to postion the drivetrain at any height and forward and back position they desire. As with our other modern engine options we would use adaptors on the block to utilise commonly available high performance urethane mounts which then bolt into out chassis mounting plates. So bolting the engines into the chassis will be relatively simple.
Fran and I have been measuring up the sizing and starting to look at the requirements for fitment. We have customers here with 4.6LT mod motors fitted, but the 5.0LT Coyote is different and will require test fitting and sorting. Especially with location of alternator, ac compressor, exhaust and air intake.
Personally I am really keen on the Coyote engines both N/A & Supercharged. They look to be a really good match for RCR products and performance goals we have for our products. A fantastic option for any Ford powered kit car. It's also nice to see a controller kit being available immediately from Ford as well to make fitment cheaper and easier.
Cam, we will sort it out as soon as possible, but keep in mind they have only just been released.

As I understand it, Roaring Forties (actually, their sister engineering company APS) was contracted by Prodrive to carry out exhaustive testing on many of the systems for Ford's new V8. This work has been underway for many months, and now that the engine has finally been released, the veil of secrecy can be lifted.
It'd be great if Paul from RF could shed more light on the subject, as he has been beavering away behind the scenes for ages now.
Should be an absolute powerhouse, and I bet it'd sound even better when it's behind you, and not in front

Hi Cam, we're not only stuck with mod V8's ? They are one of the options, and not a bad one, what do you think Coyote's origins are anyway ? RF's are being built right now with Mods, LSx and Windsor engines, even a Lexus version is underway - these cars are Individually Constructed Vehicles.....but I do know what you mean, we support Windsor and Mod and Coyote (Miami locally) with parts and fitment. The reality is an engine bay that can accommodate a 5.4 mod can physically accommodate most other engines !

Jonathan and I were privileged to be chosen by Prodrive (fantastic team to work with) based on JK's previous involvement on the stroker Windsor engine with Tickford, and our combined OE experience on other projects to consult on the design and validation of the Supercharged versions of the Coyote engine, 2 of which were released during this last week - there's more to come...as such we have an intimate knowledge of the base engine, upgrades, mods, the changes from NA and what is needed in the GT40 environment. It fits neatly in the RF and we have already sorted the electronics. There are 2 RF's being built now which will use this engine, will post pics as we go, it is a very nice unit. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o

This consultancy probably lead to longer leadtimes on parts and info for regular clients during this period - Troy suffered here and we appologise but the knowledge gained and insight into this engine was invaluable for our design and for RF clients, you don't often get the chance for such a head start ! <o></o>

Does anyone have the silhouette dimensions of the Coyote motor?
We know that it weighs approximately 430lbs, but it would be great to know how big it is......
