Bobs GTD

Hi Tom,
looks are very deceiving, attached is a DWG. of the steel inside my door, and this is encased in fiberglass that is at least 1/2" thick. the door stop is drilled threw the glass and the steel reinforcing, I don't think its going to go anywhere, but thanks for the input.

HI Bob

do i see it correctly. The doorstop is bolted to the steel inside which itself is connected with the hinge pivot tube ?

If so it would be perfect and no load on the fiberglass

Hi All,
I got my fuse block and my mini relay box mounted, I was able to get the wire looms on the front and rear bonnets completed with the weather tight connectors, and finally the crank came back from getting the flywheel balanced would you believe that it was 400 grams off, could you imagine what that would have done to my engine if it had not been balanced, Thanks guys!!! Anyhow the engine is finally sitting in its home temporarily. Well time to go back to work on all the accessories on the front of the engine, I'll be posting pics on that next.
See Ya,
Bob

Ha All,
Well work is under way on the serpentine belt conversion and all the brackets and pulleys. I found a nice crank and alternator pulley on Ebay, and my brackets are on the CNC as we speak, a trip to the local NAPA and I have an idler pulley and a little work on the lathe and I have a nice Allum. cover for it.
I saw another member use a standard water pump as an inlet, and thought I could do something like that, so this is what I came up with to do it, I made a plug for mine then welded it in place.
More to come soon,
Bob

Thanks for the good laugh!!!
Bob

Ha All,
Got a few things done over the weekend, the one piece shaft is now ready for install in the trans, I test fit it and then used it to line up the trans bell housing to the adapter plate. I added pins to my bell housing and adapter plate for repeatable accurate line up. The last picture shows the adapter plate completed. The throw out bearing adapter is next I have it all drawn up and I'm off to the machine shop to CNC it.
See ya later,
Bob

Well I had to make a slight modification for my distributor, It fit but just by what I call a C hair so I cut and fabricated up a notch for this area now it has enough clearance for me.

Ok,
It's been a while sence I've posted but that thing called a JOB keeps getting in the way of things. Anyway I have got a few things done on the car while I wait for the motor to be dynoed and the exhaust to be finished. First off I got my electric waterpump mounted in place and the nice swivel neck housing mounted to the engine. I mounted the gas shocks for the front bonnet and found a small flaw in my quick release pivot mounts, with the gas shocks mounted as you lift the front bonnet up it wants to pullout of the pivot, not a problem without the gas shocks on, so I had to do a little re engineering on them as the pics show I made a piece to fill in the hole, now works fine. Next thing was the front vent panel that I made and installed with rivet nuts, those are slick. The last thing I got done was my seat belt mounts, these I can modify later to accept 4 point harnesses after I get the car registered.
See Ya Later,
Bob

Well I finally got something done on the car, the engine is back from the dyno test and pulled 455 HP @ 6700RPM 419 ft/pd torque. I will have the video up on you tube in the next day or so. I got all the water and fuel lines run this week check out the pics, boy that braided stainless looks good. I also got the brackets for the seat belts powder coated in black.
Well See Ya Soon,
Bob
