I am in the Ricciardo camp - after all, the crew have taken years to learn Orstrilian - and I do not think that Raikonnen is any kind of long term prospect for any future employer - if he doesn't like anything he'll just spit his lolly stick and march off with his freezer under his arm.

Not sure if Mateschitz or whatever his handle is will accept such a loose cannon over a malleable genuine nice Italio/Orstrilio.

(Caveat: nice guys finish last)

Bull is a control freak. I blame it on the sugar water (gaur juice - look it up - originally it was Bison bile - now it's ersatz Bison bile). I'll wager Marky Mark cannot wait to pack his billy and walkabout.

I also agree with the above. Its all a bit too processional after lap one. I cant say I particularly like Vettel but the boy can pedal a car and no one gives away anything in formula 1. Its just the "yes baby yes" stuff over the radio after a win makes my toes curl in my boots and the the dog fecks off into the garden. Moto gp,superbikes and stuff like the TT beat all this formula1 stuff hands down.

Expect some seriously heavy rain in the Ardenne area today. It may be so heavy that practise 3 could be delayed and even Qulaifying might be delayed. Sunset sill be about 1920 local so insufficient light by about 1745 hrs. as the circuit goes into shadow when the sun goes to about 40 degrees declination. So much forest that the spray resettles back on instead of blowing away - and there are often about three different wind directions around the circuit anyway.
PS - Spa Francorchamps is in the Ardennes which is in Belgium - part of Europe.

It's seems really strange, no-one much above the age of 25 seems interested in F1 any more.

That also changed around 'crashgate' I think.

Now, we seem to have a surfeit of football style 'fanboyism' hatred directed against anyone that isn't Princess Stampy Foot who actually was mainly to blame a couple of years back, or it may have been last year when he played the race card & uttered the unforgivable "Is it because I am black" speech when questioning stewards penalties on him.

This lad (can't call him a 'boy' in case Commissioner Young is watching) has been pampered all his life, and in one instant utterance, put F1 on a completely new negative footing with thousands of young fans.

Curiously, I have also noticed that Mercedes have developed a whole new 'Yoof' stylee in their advertising, and yet have chosen to field a Princess Stampy Foot Clone in poll position instead of the Precious Princess Herself.

See? Even I'm at it!

Right, at a final attempt at some kind of enthusiasm for the genre, I noticed today that McClaren have NOT yet take up Jenson Button's option for next year which I found rather odd.

Could JB be heading for Red Bull or even Ferrari?

Despite everything he is a seasoned and very steady pair of hands and a rather superior "No.2" if you want to look at it like that.

Any comments or thoughts?

Yes, that's the 2 of the 3 alternatives I see possibly going down - on balance though, I think it would be Red Bull (if he moves at all that is)

But, McLaren must be trying to do a deal with SOMEONE otherwise they would have re-signed JB already? It would stand to reason he would replace whoever was on their hit list, and I can think of only one who would be (hint he's NOT at Red Bull OR Ferrari)

At £7 million PA JB is not exactly expensive for the sponsor money he would attract for the team - compare that with the precious Princess's £60 million!

I had always followed F1 but over the years it has been dumbed down and become very sterile. Gone are the wheel banging risk taking days and drivers with the ultimate in engineering under them . We are left with a budget capped processional alternative, its not the pinnacle of motor sport that it was. I miss the cleverness of the fueling and tyre strategists, the qualifying cars and characters like Schumi,Hakenen,Hunt etc always trying to pull strokes. I find motogp and superbikes more entertaining . I still watch it but if I miss a race its no big deal to me.
