F1 in 2013

As for spoilers, we normally wait until at least Monday (GMT) has expired as some of our American friends are having difficulties with TV schedules at the moment.

I am going to continue my favourite tyre mantra by saying that once again, this was a totally manipulated bore fest.

I suppose it all fell apart for me when Vettel was cruising up on the tail of Hamilton who was told on the radio "let him pass - we're not racing him."

What? two title contenders on the same piece of track who were not actually racing each other? What the flying fuck is going on? (Before all the patronising replies come at me - yes I know - the WTFF bit is rhetoric)

This little gem of information was repeated several times during this ridiculous show by different teams and drivers.

Utter rubbish. A dumb show for dumb people.

Cameraman is ok in terms of he is alive rather than dead but has a broken shoulder and some cracked ribs. Hope he recovers soon. Boring race.

Its pretty easy to figure if three guys still have thier hand on the wheel that its not ready to go, why he dropped the rear jack we may never know. The camera man withstood a hell of a shot, we need him on the 49ers :) ! Contrary to some TV commentary on the weight of the wheels, these wheels weight NOTHING, like maybe five pounds. With a tire maybe 15 pounds as you can see these guys throwing them around with one hand and extended arms. Granted I would not want to get hit by one doing 60mph down the pit lane but, at least it wasnt a NASCAR rim and tire. The camera guy would be dead for sure.

BBC showed the highlights of the race and not the whole race so that makes it harder to get a feel for what is really happening. Also they showed it after Andy Murray won at Wimbledon so the bar for excitement was set quite high from that. Very frustrating that Mark lost his wheel as the opportunity he had was clear from the BBC coverage so losing him was bad. But Mark also predicted in the pre race chat that nothing would be clear until the last 10 laps or so and he was right. But by then I was nodding off even though the top three were close. Not enough racing and the only drama was at the expense of the health of a cameraman.

Yes I understand highlights can be boring particularly if composed by a producer who knows little to nothing about motor sport.
Jack, manipulated rather than scripted methinks. The tire thing is still a joke when rather than racing flat out drivers are forced to manage tires.

The FIA have changed the rules after the accident to the camera man.
No one other than crew and Marshalls allowed in pit lane during practice Quali and the race.
Speed limit reduced to 80kph.
Another knee jerk reaction after the event?

It was one of Bernie's cameramen....I guess he is bracing himself for a possible prosecution by 'Elf & Safe T, and maybe, a bit of comp for the weakling that couldn't even catch an F1 wheel at full tilt. What a lightweight!

I thought 80 kph (50mph in old money) has always been the limit?

No it was 100 kph 60 mph previously, except for Monaco Melbourne and Singapore where the limit is 60 KPH.
yes a pretty poor effort by the camera man obviously he is not British!

Awesome news!

Pat Symonds joins Williams,

Coughlan fired - no time for gardening this year.

Watch for a Williams resurgence and no cracks about 'crashgate' - he was the only honourable man in the team and I include the Teflon Don in that statement.

Justin (who the hell he?) time for new regs in 2014 - genuinely excited about a potential Williams comeback...

OK, bottle put away, now for some real drivers...Oh, if you new Suzie like I know Suzie, Oh, Oh, Oh,...what a...... NO!

Once again the gay boys car works perfectly and Webber has a KERS and gearbox problem:furious:
Grosjean not penalised for a floor that fails a deflection test:lipsrsealed:

Not if you're a poofter, no.

But, Alonso punished for 6 times "accidental" deployment of DRS. Right.

Montezuma (or whatever his name is) has publicly bollocked Alonso for "whining" and talking to Horner. The Teflon one may come unstuck!

Monty going public with the bollocking is doing exactly what he is accusing Alonso of doing.
I don't know the technicalities, but I thought race control controlled when DRS could be deployed?
Was it accidental.......Nah!
I would love to see Alonso at Red Bull, he would teach the finger toting kid what a real driver can do. As would Kimi, that is why I think Ricciardo will get the drive, Vettel runs the team and wouldn't want a driver of Kimi's or Alonso's stature as his rival.

I reckon Kimi will be there, Vettel (despite running the team) truly believes he`s the best, deluded perhaps? I don`t think he`s that special, good but not truly great.
What of Alonso, what other options does he have? I believe he has get out clauses in his contract, seems frustrated after such a barren run (no championships) at Ferrari, maybe Lotus?
I thought the Hungry race was pretty poor, Grosjean and his white line incident should have been just a racing incident, some of the steward`s decisions are becoming slightly beyond a joke, after all you did not see Rossi and Marquez receive a drive through after their dice at the Corkscrew (last race).
To my mind this season so far has been very poor for what is supposed to be the pinnacle of motorsport, to me BSB and Moto GP are much more entertaining!!

Totally with you there Chris. I've completely had it with F1, soo boring. Now Moto GP with Marquez and Rossi on a working bike - woohoo!! That's how F1 should be.
