Getting married - must get the 40 finished now

Hi all

Just thought I put a little post on here to announce my engagement to my new fiancée Cathy.

She's put up with being a garage widow while I've been building my car so the pressure is now on to get the car finished for our wedding in spring 2013. Sounds like it's a while off but I know it will come round quickly and being able to drive my GT40 to the wedding would make the day that little bit more special.

So I'd better get back in the garage and get this bugger built

Trev

p.s. has anyone else used a GT40 for a wedding, any pictures welcome

Congratulations Trev, spring 2013 will be here in no time at all.

I took a friend of a friend to his wedding last weekend in my GTD, he loved every minute of it and was part of the wedding photographs, he certainly felt he arrived in style, his bride arrived by helicopter, yet a large part of the congregation thought the car was best.

All the best

Trev,

Congratulations,

Getting married and having a family was the best thing I have ever done!

PS, I hope she likes cars.

Congratulations! Not sure about having the bride in it though, going to a bit tricky to get out of a GT40 wearing a wedding dress!

Depending on where you have it would be great to take it and have your photos with it, we took our bikes to our wedding and have photos of us on my new wife's bike (it was rather more photogenic than the one I had at the time!)

I would make sure you have alternative plans just in case though, I'd planned to have my 750 finished being rebuilt for my wedding and failed (hence taking the tatty 850), mostly due to wedding stuff taking up my time. Do not underestimate how much of your free time it can take up.

Being married can be a heaven or hell on earth. It all depends on your relationship. Sounds like you have a good one and good luck! All the best for you and Cathy.

Congrats Trevor - I remember making that promise many years ago. You're more focussed than me though :) Just get it finished before house extensions and the pitter patter of feet come along!
