Speed Demon just ran 411 mph! That is just under the world's record for a wheel-driven vehicle.
That was 2005. I would be amazed if the car still had the same engine in it. It was a Cadillac Northstar engine.Do you know the year that photo was taken? The record in that class, D Gas Roadster is currently:
engine size D name Hot Rod Hoodlums driver D. Jones date 8 /12 219.831 mph
I'll try to find him in the SCTA files.
Thanks for checking....Randy, I checked the SCTA archive and I did not see that car listed so maybe it is still around bur in a different class or has a new number.
Flat out amazing! Do you have any photos or a link to them about this car?
In July, 2018, we witnessed a GIGANTIC lightening storm in the Scottsdale, Az., area at about 1 A.M.!
While deciding whether or not to send out Christmas cards this year, I found something in my Dad’s papers that may be suitable for 2020. Just a little reminder that the world was also in turmoil in 1945 but the outlook was beginning to look brighter. This is a scan of a Christmas poem that someone wrote and mimeographed in Manila, Philippine Islands, just after it was captured in 1945.
Just as 1945 was the last Christmas of WW II, let’s hope 2020 is the last year of this virus. Be hopeful- be safe.
Merry Christmas to All, Neil & Joline Albaugh Tucson, AZ
