Is the right to bear arms outdated.

As I understand it, those suffering from dyslexia have a diffucult time focusing, staying on track, and categorizing thoughts effectively.

Not criticizing, just saying - THREAD KILLER!!

"Is the right to bear arms outdated."

This ought to answer the question above once and for all. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr.:

"With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option," he adds. "You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed, or you can fight back. Consider taking a certified safety course in handling a firearm so you can defend yourself until we get there."

"People are responsible to play a role in their own safety, with the help of law enforcement," Clarke said. "I'm here to do my part, but we have fewer and fewer resources. We're not omnipresent, and WE HAVE TO STOP GIVING PEOPLE THAT IMPRESSION."(!!!)

The liberal response?:

""That doesn't sound too smart," Felber said."

'Pretty much figures, doesn't it. He goes on to say, "People have the right to defend themselves, but they don't have the right to take the law into their own hands." Really. Where did the Sheriff say they DID? And how is defending yourself "taking the law into (your) own hands" anyway?

Doug, dyslexics do face some challanges, but focusing, staying on track, and categorizing thoughts effectively is not one of them. This is a short list of noted Dyslexics:

Albert Einstein
Alexander Grahm Bell
Thomas Edison
Michael Faraday
Winston Churchill
Nelson Rockefeller
Bill Hewlett
Henery Ford
Richard Branson
Charles Schwab
Agatha Christie
F Scott Fitzgerold
Steven Spieldberg.............

Doug, I think it would be disingenuous to say that those folks had a hard time "focusing, staying on track, and categorizing thoughts effectively". In fact those are skills that we tend to have in spades.

Now writing those thoughts down effectively, passing a math class, a spelling test, remembering names and the alphabet, yes thats a big problem, but focusing and staying on track is not a problem, we tend to be fairly good at that!

You may be thinking of "attention deficit disorder", which is an all together different challange.

Illegal ocean dumping persists despite DOJ crackdown. Fines of up to $1,000,000 for dumping even small amounts of lead into the ocean.

Larry, when I first heard the David Clarke statement on the radio I knew there would be backlash from the libs, but rest assured Sheriff Clarke is always ready for a good fight...[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEibmLh5qRI"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEibmLh5qRI[/ame]

'Twould appear their "backlash" is just as hypocritical as what they actually DO when it comes to guns too, craig. Take the faaaaaar left outfit "Media Matters for America" for instance:

"The former Media Matters for America staffer in charge of guarding the group’s leader not only committed multiple felonies when he carried firearms across the country but did so with the organization’s blessing and money, according to a report in the The Daily Caller Monday.
Multiple guns were reportedly bought and used to protect liberal leader David Brock. They were purchased with member money and were green-lighted by the head of the group, according to an unnamed source.
The Daily Caller reports that Brock's assistant carried a concealed Glock handgun without the proper permit.
The Glock-toting revelation flies in the face of the strong anti-gun stance Media Matters touts.
During one of Brock’s gun-guarded trips, he went to a Democratic summit in California. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., who re-introduced a gun control package last week in the House including a renewed assault-weapons ban, was also there."

I take from the above that they evidently just want everyone else disarmed. 'Do as we say and not as we do' so to speak.

Why is it that those who steal guns, and kill movie goers and children in school are always Democrats, and not Conservatives or NRA members?

Ft Hood shooter - Registered Democrat – Muslim

Columbine shooters - Too young to vote; both families were registered Democrats and progressive liberals

Virginia Tech shooter - Registered Democrat - Wrote hate mail to President Bush and to his staff.

Colorado Theater shooter - Registered Democrat; staff worker on the Obama campaign; Occupy Wall Street participant; progressive liberal

Connecticut School Shooter - Registered Democrat; hated Christians

Congresswoman Gabby Giffords’ shooter – leftist, Registered Democrat

Common thread is that all of these shooters were progressive-types.

Why is that the media always tells us that Conservative NRA-type gun-owners are the real danger?
When there is civil unrest (riots), burning of buildings and cars, destruction of public and private property, the participants are undeniably Democrats...
In my opinion, I believe it's far more than coincidence or patterns - IT'S REALITY !!

I have seen this chain email going around, and from what I can tell is that there is no hard evidence to back up these claims. Notice that the email doesn't cite any sources...

Fabrications like this originate from both sides of the political spectrum...

...or Tea Party members.

Why is that the media always tells us that Conservative NRA-type gun-owners (and Tea Partiers) are the real danger?

...and why (as if we don't know) did they immediately attempt to tie the Arizona shooter to the Tea Party solely on a whim?

Mark Twain was right: "If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you're mis-informed.”

So perhaps it's the 1st Amend - not the Second - that's "outdated"...at least as it pertains to the press.

Two rocket launchers at gun buyback didn't surprise LAPD chief - latimes.com

Wow...I'd feel safer in California... Two " rocket launchers" were bought back by police.
Per the chief, no rockets in tubes. That is so nice of him to blow that way out proportion.

What he isn't saying (either because he's s dumbass or is intentionally lying to the public on the item) is that the object that he is holding is only a paper weight.

The AT-4 is a one shot weapon that leaves an empty tube that is trash and not reusable. They can be purchased at military surplus stores and probably less than what the police paid for it.

The empty tube is no more a weapon than a silly straw or a 4' length of PVC pipe.

Tax payers money being spent on BS press conference and to buy useless tubes.

There is an old saying " never screw up a good story with the truth".-

I'm surprised that the weapons handed in are not being checked for connection to crime.
Blow someone away, sell the weapon to the police and they will melt it down for you no questions asked?

I'd bet the farm they are in some places...it's just not being 'advertised'. "No questions asked" and all that. The reason for the 'n.q.a.' is supposedly so that no one is discouraged from turning their gun(s) in. 'Nuts I know, but, that's the story.

There should at least be a way to link every gun taken in by the P.D. to a corresponding clandestine photo taken of the 'transaction'. (Like a pinhole spy camera secretly installed on the counter/desk that looks up at the person handing in the gun while at the same time getting a shot of the firearm.)

Bond could do it, that's James. Thinking about it Larry I'm sure you are correct.

Big pressure now to pass the U.N. International arms treaty. For those in the USA
that would lead to National Registration, buy backs, and eventually confiscation.
BE AWARE!
