re: Jimmymac & Alistair's Cars

All mechanicals are now complete on the first car barring a couple of changes. We need to fit the trilobal drive shafts to the ZFs and that is about the largest job.
Fibreglass work has started and we are now splitting the door skins off to fit the correct internal hinge pinion brackets.
So it looks like our plan for a Christmas completion is on track at least with one car. Alas my illness is now preventing me from doing too much now.
Roll on the Le Mans Classic next season.

Tom,
We think we shall leave the tabs on for now - 'belt and braces' so to speak.
Here is one of our fuel systems ready to go in today.

Nice work, and whoever welded up the fuel cones is an artist- we did something different in mine. The car looks stunning, you are going to have a real princess when she's done.

Sorry you are not feeling good, Jimmy, hope you are back up to snuff very soon.

Thank you chaps.
Kudos needs to go to Scotty and Alistair who are doing all the work on these cars whilst I get fit.
Both of them have been good bricks recently and I need to thank them for keeping my dander up throughout this.

I picked out some switches for my dash today.
All original unused stock and series dated June 1964. These are much better quality than the new Lucas stuff and have a solid positive "click" on them. The chrome is also thicker.

Switches are not trivial. Such a simple thing as a really positive feel and "click" to the switching can make a difference to one's enjoyment of a car.

Nice work Jimmy.
Ditch the ash trays, smoking is bad for the health unless it's smoking the tyres !

re: Jimmymac & Alistair's Cars

Hi Jimmy,
Where did you get the Ford chassis and engine no plates from ?
Also do you know where to get J W Automotive plates ?
Nice work by the way as always, especially from a Scotsman.
Cheers

Jimmy, Looking back at the start of the posts it's nearly 5 years and you had a lot done before that, When to you expect to complete the build.
You cant rush a masterpiece you must be a patient guy, I'm too impatient but would love to have the time and the experience to do it.

Regards

Keith,
Thanks for the compliment.
We sub-contract all our own badges if we can, but won't be fitting JWA makers plates as we don't wish to decieve. Fran Kress is the man for quality makers plates if you are going to fit them.

I got released from hospital yesterday to spend time at home for Christmas only to find that Alistair and the boys have been busy as usual.
Another set of Gulf brakes were delivered this morning in time for the Yule.
I can lift them at the moment so will post pictures later but here are shots of more fabrication work done last week.
The ducts consist of two Cushman's, one original and one by Scotty which all look pretty spot on to me.

re: Jimmymac & Alistair's Cars

Hi Jimmy,
If I could make something as well as you boys have done I wouldn't want to put someone else's badges on it either.

Tell me do you have the equipment such as presses, guilotenes on a commercial scale or do you take it elsewhere.
Guessing you have them !
Hope you feel better soon Jimmy
Have a good Christmas and New year

Santa dropped these off.
A new set of brakes instead of rebuilding my old ones.
