Tom,
I might just knock up a box of sand and cast some of these.
It will take a while as I am really busy at the moment but we shall see.
Here is another MKII picture showing pretty much the same ones that I have.
It's 1032. (courtesy to a forum member for the pic)
Do the Mark I cars have anything like this? I had the impression that the nostril panel just lifts out on those cars, like mine, but I've been wrong plenty of times before. If anyone can let me know I'd be grateful.
Jim,
These hinges are for MKII's only, your car uses Dzus ejectors as you understand it.
The MKIII's were completely different again using internal trunk hinges and push-lock fasteners.
Got it, James, that's what I thought and I am relieved. The body parts are already set up for the Dzus fasteners, although no one makes the ones with the little wing on them, I am going to have to see if I can get Metalcrafts to braze them on. Dammit.
Here are the hinges Superformance uses on the MK II. They are not chromed, but appear to be a machined, slightly polished alloy. Siize reference included in the old-fashioned "kings measuring system"
Tom,
My pals at the foundry will be copying those chromed ones of mine in an alloy for me soon and I will get a pair out to you.
You can then machine and polish them to suit your purpose.
So send me you address by PM and don't be afraid to mail me a stiff reminder if I forget.
