Looking for a how-to or source for tinted polycarbonate (Lexan) GT40 side/back windows and light covers. A few years ago RCR did a batch for the SLC, but has not, and has no plans for GT40 pieces.

The only option I can find is this

Rust-Oleum Lens Tint Spray 10 Oz. Translucent Black 253256

Randy….I believe it will take up material dye. The sort of stuff you would in an art class for tie dye
So get a large baby bath, mix up the dye as per instructions they’re on.
Test on an off cut and time how long it is in the solution to get your desired tint
Submerge your windows etc and agitate solution…..remove at desired time

Note you cannot UN-DYE so err on the side of caution hence the test piece.

Spray tint is moderately okay for taillights or other plastics to colorize them, but NOT for viewing thru them.
Probably right about that. The spray may work for the light covers, but the windows will need to be dyed as suggested by Ian or covered with film. I prefer film.

I think the rear window will be easy for film since it is basically flat. Not sure about the side windows. Look for a film that has some flexibility. Might take them to a shop that specializes in window films to see what they say.

In AZ, window tinting was fairly common before the option of tinted glass became available. The window film that was best was made by 3M.

VHT Nightshade was the product we used for tinting tail lights and sometimes truck rear windows. It was consistent look AT it, but I do not know about looking THROUGH it. Amazon has easy window tinting kits for cheap. Might be worth a try.
