Hello, I am Unusual. heh jokes
I am not unusual in a bad way. I am a unusual man in my 50's.
I have been interested in specialty cars since the Manta cars came around. My vehicles up to this point have all been quite utilitarian. It will be another unusual experience for me to own otherwise.
I am not a great mechanic. I used to be able to do general auto work under the shade tree back in the day, but at present with the hi-tech and tiny work spaces of vehicles, I don't do much. Also the arthritis in the hands tends to put me off. As far as participation in various mechanical aspects here, I imagine I will be largely an observer. The upside for me is that I have few mechanical problems with my daily drivers.
I am probably most interested in the SLC at this point. I have been mulling over and evaluating the GTM, possible the lola or the SLC realizing that the skills, work space and tools I possess are probably less than what is required.
I have a few dollars stashed away and have been considering making a purchase if and when the right deal comes along. On a thread on the gtm board, one person referred to those looking for a good deal and keeping in mind what the maket will bear as "thieves wanting to steal". That really put me off. Stealing is unethical and making a good deal is not imo.
I have to admit I am a tad conflicted about the possible purchase of one of these fine machines being too selfish on my part. I have children in their early 20's and own a modest home (along with the bank) and live with my wife of more than 2 decades. My finances are in order and controllable always.
I read the "turnkey SLC" may still be a work in progress. I am also unclear as to if there is a manual that comes with the purchase?
Probably getting a little beyond a introduction here. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I have some unusual threads to read here and unusual things to do today.
