Frankly I think one kid with a sling-shot and a pile of comic books would be just fine for the three of them...

Would not take long at all...

And I was sure someone would say that what she said was "taken out of context".
I'm buying some acrylics, canvas, and brushes tommorrow! Paintings by Alberto, has a nice ring to it! How do you get food stamps?

Just be patient Hussein and his cronies will be out of office soon. I just hope that everyone learned from their lesson this time around.

I'm not so sure....have you ever considered that the current administration might just well be a reflection of the attitudes of the MAJORITY of Americans? Keep in mind that those who are satisfied are not usually very vocal....those who are not satisfied tend to raise the roof. Don't think that the vocal minority reflects the opinions of the majority.......remember how Spiro T. Agnew called them the "...nattering nabobs of negativity..."?

As to the original opinion, though, I agree.....the only one who might scare me more in that position than Pelosi might just well be Sarah Palin :stunned: !!

It's an interesting point of view Cliff, re: 'silent majority' and I personally have always taken some comfort re; the 'non vocal' community.

But:

I found this circulating and haven't posted it to date because I am not that comfortable with over politicising this particular forum, but since you brought up the subject, should we be THAT confident that the 'silent ones' will carry us through?

Holocaust Survivor's View on Fanatic Islam

The author of this piece is Dr. Emanuel Tanay, a well-known and well respected psychiatrist.

<HR align=center SIZE=2 width=" border=" alt="" 0?>

A Holocaust Survivor's View on Islam
A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism. 'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.'

Stalin himself was responsible for the murder of up to 60 million citizens of the Soviet Union (some say as 'few' as 45 million), more than were killed in the 'Great Patriotic War' itself, many - most of them them innocent of any crime against the state. (my own addition to the text)

We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.

The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march... It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.

The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the 'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.

And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were 'peace loving'?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points:

Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.

Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts -- the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

(Tanay is a well-known forensic psychiatrist who has been an expert witness in many famous cases. He has served as an officer or committee member on the Michigan Psychiatric Society, the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and others. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and of the American Board of Forensic Psychiatry and a distinguished fellow of the APA and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFC).

A Holocaust survivor himself, Dr Tanay coauthored a book about the survivors of the Holocaust and was asked by the German government to consult on just compensation for the Holocaust survivors. Dr. Tanay has served on several journal editorial boards, authored many publications, and presented countless times on forensic medicine. His efforts have also produced many awards and commendations from groups such as the Michigan State Medical Society, APA, the Detroit Institute of Technology, and AAFC, among others.)

I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers. According to Gallup, as the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico grew in size and severity in May, President Obama saw his own weekly job approval rating slip from 50% to 46%. However, it has since stabilized at the lower level.
In contrast with earlier in the year, when Obama's approval dipped solely among independents and Republicans, the latest decline -- on the order of two to three percentage points -- is seen about equally with all three party groups (including democrats).
Your socialist genius seems to be foundering but not letting a good crisis go to waste, he will now solve the oil spill problem with a carbon tax.

Rasmussen has 62% of the US not wanting government healthcare, that puts the silent majority at 38%. Approval ratings are at 46% and sinking. A sparkling JFK speech tonight should work for about 3 days. They should have accepted the help that was offered over a month ago by the Dutch, English, and others. But cleanup is not the objective, demonizing BP, taxation, tighter government control and bigger government is the objective, you should hear that tonight. "Never waste a good crisis". Nuf said.

Couldn't agree more - Pelosi as VP or President would be sooooo embarassing. The woman has such a smugness about her that it I simply cannot stand to see or hear the drivel coming from her mouth. And, of course, what does come out seems so disconnected from reality that it's completely incredible.

Politicians like to speak in the "normative" - in other words, it's convenient and easy to talk about "what we need to do is X" (which is obviously better than the status quo) rather than talk about what we in fact ARE doing right now, and how that can realistically be changed given rampant partisanship and limited government budgets. Pelosi talks in the normative so much that I think she's lost the ability to understand and speak credibly about the present and reality.

She needs to go away.

Gotta watch the credibility of your sources, Al.....just how unbiased do you think Rasmussen is? As for approval ratings, they go up and down, what matters now is nowhere near as important as Bee-OH's (gotta say it like that old deodorant commercial, make it sound like a fog horn) approval rating in 2012.

I'll agree this situation has a lot of people upset, perhaps more than usual. You have said it before and I'll say it now....this is going to make for VERY interesting elections, not only the mid-term elections this year but also in 2012. It might just be better entertainment than our local school board meetings.....no, wait....nothing could be that absurd, not even our infamous Bee-OH!!!!!
