What's up with the Forums today?

Wow, some of you guys actually CAN post outside of the paddock. Now, if we could get you on to productive discussions about cars we'd be on to something.

Whoa, now there's a concept!

We could make the paddock for members only. Someone proposed that a long time ago but I shot it down. In light of few advertisers and few supporters it could be a good idea.

I was always fascinated by the fact that quite a few "with issues" and some serial complainers were/are? never forum supporters in the first place. I think the membership idea is cool.

The Paddock has been quite important to me as I am now an enforced "home buddy" most of the time.

There is a BUT. Part of me thinks like Groucho Marx :squint:

Ron,

I'd think getting non-paying high volume posters to fund the site would make a lot of sense, especially if the revenue side is suffering a bit of a dry spell. Heck, if you are looking for revenue suggestions, I'd pay for a CD of "Randy's Tech Tips" or a GT40s compilation of user builds or a video tech forum with Q&As.
Just a thought.

Can the section altogether. This is a car site. There are plenty of sites to beat others over the head with political nonsense. Creates animosity that would probably never exist if I didn't know that half of you are stark raving mad moonbat liberals.

That's funny. With the range of people represented here, it's a microcosm of all communities. Take that intercourse away then you should also ban elections and scrap the 1st amendment.

Anyway, I've never been a fan of politics and neither are the majority here. Why would you want to get rid of the Paddock because of less than 1/2 dozen posters who can't keep a civil tongue in their head?

Tell you what. I'll become the sponsoring vendor for the Paddock - my product will be polite irreverence.

How's that sound?

Sheesh do you guys have a life lol. Nobody is taking away your 1st amendment wait are you a US citizen? You have no 1st amendment anyway sorry. Anyways, there are plenty of web forums to get on and BS about anything. This one should be about cars. Maybe start your own?

That couldn't be a clearer message. Thank you..

Afraid we'll affect your car 'value' Mr Grumpy?

It's not worth the effort. I can't be assed...

MHNCO or what ever.
You are wrong on several counts but principally the paddock was about anything, not
just look a like kit cars. Maybe you should start your own website.
p.s. Nobody over here (say- east of longtitude 20W) really cares about your so called amendments. Doesn't one of your amendments talk about guns?
Don't even go there.....

Unless the Paddock is put back to normal, it looks as though these various parts of the GT40s.com website will become the new abiding place for the arguing and bickering that made the paddock so much fun.
Who ever is on duty and has control of the switch think about how much more rubbish do you expect on this thread talking about the right or wrongs of closing the paddock. Is it bandwidth as well or is that no longer a problem?
That's all from me folks. I'm off into London for the day.

Well, Frankie, that is my real name, the name I am universally known by and I am a Baron to boot. I believe the Paddock will be reinstated for paying supporters...

That is all.
