Helio's penality had more to do with him grabbing an official by the neck than what he did on the track.

Actually he grabbed the official because of the penalty......

I haven't heard that anything has come of him grabbing the official - he should be out for at least a race or two on that dumb assed move.

I guess there was some action:

"INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—IndyCar officials fined star Helio Castroneves $60,000 and placed him on probation for the remainder of the year following his actions at the July 25 race in Edmonton.

The penalty was handed down following a meeting between Castroneves and series officials on Monday, more than a week after the three-time Indy 500 champion was black-flagged for blocking Penske Racing teammate Will Power on the final restart."

:wrongforum:Hey mate this is the F1 thread, cut the Indy stuff :laugh:

Schumacher is only sorry on reflection because of the bad press that Mercedes are very sensitive about. His past actions speak louder than his words of today. Basically the man is a prick who just happens to have seven world championships.

Tess/Keith, how may screen names do you have??

I got a laugh out of Helio getting penalized for the non block of his teammate at the restart of the IndyCar race this weekend. STOOPID call by the officials. If he had done what MS had done to Ruebens I suspect they would have drug him out of the car and shot him on the spot.

Goofy.

Hey Goofy! just paying homage to a legendary Kinsman... :)

The FIA has announced that the World Motor Sport Council will meet on Wednesday, September 8 to look into the controversy surrounding Ferrari team orders at the German Grand Prix.
The Italian team was fined $100,000 by the Hockenheim race stewards last month when Felipe Massa gave way to his team mate Fernando Alonso for the race win. The FIA has announced that having reviewed the report from the stewards that FIA president Jean Todt has decided to submit the case to the WMSC.
The hearing is scheduled to take place just before the Italian Grand Prix at Monza - Ferrari's home race.

Just had a whisper that Korea is off for 2010. I've tried to verify it but it's a bit late to do it tonight, so its unconfirmed for the moment.

How often do we hear this kind of masculine bovine feces!!! If you did something wrong then be sorry for taking that action...period. Don't qualify it based on the plaintif's perception or feeling. Jeez, this kind of statement is all you hear anymore from those that do stupid things. Does this mean he is not sorry if Rubens did not feel he been put in danger. Subjective appologies are no better in my mind than adding a "but" in the middle of a statement...it nullifies everything you said up to that point.

Okay...I'm sorry, back to the main thread (l really like(d) MS, but I hate to see him squander his popularity on this kind of melarky)

Terry, a BIG +1 on that point. It has become the new norm for apologising, and I, like you and everyone else on this forum probably agree that it is, in no sense at all, an apology.

He may think he is playing the game, but he is making NO friends, and probably losing a few along the way. Time for him to bow out with (just a teeny bit) of his reputation untarnished (although I have always found his tactics to be distasteful).

His reputation has always been tarnished. I have never made any secret of my dislike
for Schumacher - I first met him in St Paolo in 1994 and my dislike of him started instantly. I thought then what a precocious, self centred, arrogant bastard he was
and I think the Silvertone crowd summed it up by cheering wildly on the day he broke his leg. He has no sense of what is right and proper and decent in life and if this so called 'comeback' ends in grief, so many people such as me will just say "Good. Right will always prevail"

Could not have put it better myself. Ultra arrogant, flawed genius.

"Ferrari Team Orders Farrago" The Thot Plickens.... :)

New video of the German Grand Prix published by FOM reveals how Fernando Alonso urged Ferrari to order Felipe Massa to let him pass.
Alonso said to the team “I am much quicker than Felipe” and was told “we got your message”.
Because of the editing of the video it’s not clear how much time elapsed between that and the infamous coded instruction to Massa ordering him to let Alonso pass.
When Alonso tried to overtake Massa on lap 21 Rob Smedley told his driver, “he’s pretty close, he’s going to go, you’re going to have to defend.”
Massa was later advised, “you need to pick up the pace because Alonso is faster.” After the race Massa sounded thoroughly unimpressed when he told them, “so, what I can say? Congratulations to the team.”
Ferrari were handed a $100,000 fine for using “team orders that interfere with a race result” and “bringing the sport into disrepute”. The World Motor Sport Council will decide next month whether they will face further penalties.
The move was widely condemned by fans, with 78% on this site calling for Ferrari to be punished.
This is not the first time material published by FOM online has shed new light on the discussions between teams and drivers during a race. After the Turkish Grand Prix FOM published a new portion of McLaren’s team radio showing Lewis Hamilton was advised Jenson Button would not overtake him, shortly before Button did.

FOM? Is that Formula One Management, Bernie the Midget Mountebank's little outfit?

Trust him to stick his oar in.

Mark Webber, recharging his batteries in the south of France during F1's summer break, has been in contact with Red Bull director Adrian Newey to wish him a speedy recovery from his shunt in a Ginetta G50 race at Snetterton last Sunday.
Webber and Newey share a burning competitive spirit and were seen in a genuinely warm embrace when Webber won Monte Carlo, although the Aussie was clearly less than impressed by the Silverstone front wing incident, a decision widely held to be largely Newey driven.
As the F1 season enters its crucial phase with the final European races of the year imminent, starting with Spa at the end of the month, Red Bull Racing knows how important it is to have the whole team fully focused if it is to achieve its ambition of beating established teams such as Ferrari and McLaren to the world championship.
"I've been in touch with Adrian and he's okay," Webber said, following the technical chief's release from the Norwhich and Norfol hospital with a bruised arm. "In fact, he was joking about not having a flexi bed in hospital."
Webber is used to being on the other side of psychological support following an accident, managing to keep his 2009 season and his Red Bull drive together after a breaking a leg and shoulder - which he kept quiet about - doing his charity Tasmanian Challenge at the end of 2008. His recovery was speeded by his natural fitness, an intensive programme of physiotherapy with trainer Roger Cleary, and widespread support from many of Australia's sporting elite.
Webber, who has scored two more 2010 wins than any rival, is gearing up for the finish of a campaign which could see him become the first Australian to win the championship since Alan Jones 30 years ago.
"It's good to be leading the points standings but there are still a lot of chapters to come in this world championship battle," he said. "The top five drivers are separated by 20 points, which is nothing. It's the equivalent of just eight points under last year's points system. There's everything to play for, but not until I've turned my phone off and had a couple of weeks' holiday!"

Almost reminiscent of the lap I tried to help set up for Frentzen driving for Jordan when Jim Vale was the manager (90 or 91, I can't remember now). Eddie Jordan intervened and as a consequence HH had no laps left (the old 12 lap system).
The Q. debrief was ever so interesting...........

My German isn't very good but I think that translates as:-

Vettel didn't have a very good race did he...

Either that or:-

Vettel had better fasten his arse-lock.
