Hello Leon, very nice build! Did you custom build these headers/collectors, or you managed to source them somewhere?
I have CAV #22 with a cable setup, but a friend of mine has a scratch-built GT40 with linkage.. I definitely prefer the linkage setup, and looking to see if I can fit that into my CAV chassis. not going to be easy though i'm affraid.

Leon, how are making out with your shift linkage? Jasper, I'm also interested in going to a rod shift linkage. I almost had it worked out on paper before I went with cables. I think it's quite doable with the RBT and a left hand drive.

Randy, I'm trying to change my old user name (YerDugliness) to my real name, as we are encouraging all users to do. I can't find my control panel. Can you give me directions to get there and change my name to comply more fully with the forum practices?
Thanks....so sorry to be so dense about this, but the further from the answer I get the more confused I get.

You’re fine. The YerDugliness is the ID that the forum software knows as your logon ID. Just like mine is Big-Foot. These are the logon names we chose and that’s fine as long as the User Name that appears in your messages and threads is a derivative of your true “real” name (we’re both in compliance).. I can check to see if we can change logon ID if you wish.

You can get the castings for a solid shift assembly although I'm not familiar with the CAV chassis. You would need to obviously route the shift through the bulkhead and although a solid shift can be used on the central tunnel its easier to mount the gear stick to the right of the driver (in a RH car)

Here is mine. It is cable but heavy industrial push/pull on a ZF transaxle.

Here is a pic at the transaxle (ZF inverted). Not on my car but same Olthoff Racing setup. My car is left hand drive and this setup works great. If I had right hand drive I'd probably use the rods like the original cars.

So: The million dollar question from my side.
I have a RHD CAV gen 1.. but i'm importing it into a LHD world (The Netherlands).
What would be best for resale value on the global market place: Keep it RHD and convert to 'correct' RH-shifting? Or convert to LHD because a bigger market might want to drive in a 'normal' seating position..

just keep all the parts, have photos of both set ups, then its got the biggest market possible. Assuming your not removing any mounting brackets and that any holes can just be plugged with gromets

So most every market outside the USA would want RHD. RHD is growing more interest in the USA also as all the original GT40 Race Cars were RHD. If I had a RHD GT40 I would not go through the expensive and hassle to switch it unless my country required it.

I will second that, also driven mine in France numerous times and not noticed any major problem driving it from the “correct” side
