Paul dont ever worry about what Clarkson says. He is a TWAT /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/censored.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

Pity there wasn't a valet parking attendant to hand - he could have just slammed the real GT40's door shut at the right time - we would all then be spared the pain of Clarkson's artificial intonations & air-head opinions !

Kind Regards,

Do we take it he is not altogether popular ?
Don't worry - he is reviled by many here as well.
Pompous and crass journo with an inflated ego.
I could go on.

Excuse some of the technical inaccuracies I think the show is bloody funny /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beat.gif

maybe I'm missing somit ?

I too love top gear and fifth gear (also if still dunno if those are 2 different programs or even the same).
I guess anyway they try make a program about cars that can be interesting for mass....and our passion is NOT for generic people(I just wonder reading last posts in for Sale section..about Alan's yellow carbon fiber 40s..and just i feel disappointed at the problems he had in selling that beauty..)

Means people doesnt understand so much all around..evem more about this particular too special wonderful vehicles.

That one should be just mass show...but I honestly like too much the program (also cause down here..incredible to say...seems all those kinda programs are censored /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1poke.gif...,because who governs us thinks we all risk to emulate those guys, being in Italy SO strong passion for cars..)

Paolo

P.s.....anyway if Jeremy sold the red ford gt he remains a real A**hold forever.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banana.gif

Hi guys
Clarkson has a following ,(at least in the UK), not for the accuracy of his jounalsim, let alone his motoring expertise, its because he is different and represents about the only overtly nonPC programme made by the 'chattering classes' at the BBC. In my book that's a breath of fresh air, although even environmental gurus like James Lovelock are now saying we may as well all go out and buy Ferraris !( he hasn't heard of GT40's yet). His attempts at the Nordschleife in the jag were genuinely funny as were his experiments to find out the vehicle speed to defeat the speed cameras.
Take it for what it is Light entertainment.

I follow the last post, i find him a breath of fresh air, even though he can be badly informed.
Anyone who says
" All German cars with satellite navigation systems, point the driver to Poland " is great in my books !! So un-PC in this stifling climate of sad sicophantic correctness. Reminds me of the 'Germans' episode in Fawlty Towers.
Long may he grace our screens, even taking into account his inaccuracy.

That's the nub. I'm a fan and JC doesn't mind lampooning himself which gets my vote. He has become what the viewer most wanted him to be. His so called "inaccuracies" pale into insignificance compared with certain other "journos" to be found on the Great Square Box, and much as I like and respect rivals such as Tiff Needell, 5th gear is like watching paint dry by comparison. In years to come, you'll all be saying "God, I miss that program".
