Jim, I detect a subtle change, a couple of years back you were adamant that global warming was caused by man, now you are saying you don't know.
I'll put that down as a small but significant change in attitude.
Well, yes actually..I've always been on his list of nasty people who are killing the planet and hatin' people who ain't, you know, like er, and like kneel down this way, and er, wail a lot and er, cover up so the cameras can't see 'em, and, and scratch their nuts with a salad fork and eat stuff an' that.. You know.
And then go bang....
Pro global warming scientist are taking a 60 year span of time to decide that man is causing warming on a planet that has been continuously changing, warming and cooling for 4.5 billion years. That represents 1/75,000,000 of the lifespan of earth. If global warming still makes sense then discussion won't help. The thought of taxation for this cause couldn't be the reason?

You may be remembering me strongly stating the the world is warming. I have long argued that glaciers are receding, the ice caps are diminishing and the earth is warming, the cause, be it natural, man made or a little of both, I do not know, you do not know and Al Gore does not know.

In 2013, California had the lowest amount of rain in recorded history.
Plus we also recently had the HOTTEST rain in history...........
Apparently on August 18th 2012 it rained in Needles CA when the pemature was 115 degrees.
Add the recent record cold in the northeast...........
You can pretend that weather patterns are not, rapidly changing, you can pretend that everything is just fine........I know that many of you think all the scientsts are in on a huge, incredably complicated conspiracy.....
Personally, I think we need to keep a close eye on things.

Keep an eye on things yes but tip the worlds economy upside down overnight on a scientist whim no. They really are struggling to fathom out what is going on and that coupled with the media sensationalising their every word is just adding confusion. As in my post above we know what we are doing is wrong and we have a duty to perhaps put the thumb screws on the producers to clean up their act. Its all to easy at the moment to produce goods that cause ecological havoc in far off lands while still looking green.We may be shitting in someone else`s back yard but as I said we share the air and sea. Perhaps some kind of star rating attached to goods that relates to their eco impact with an associated tax that makes them look less attractive.

You, an ex-supporter of Mr. Gore's campaign on MMGW, now clearly need to, like most others, shift your position. Now you wish to come across as all Open-minded all of a sudden. I do not need to shift my position simply to remain combative, or defensive. If fact proves me wrong, I can accept that. I have said in this thread previously, that we should all tend to the Planet with a little more respect, BUT I have vehemently stated that I cannot accept being Taxed more and more, both corporately and personally, for 'science' that is faulty, completely fictitious and/or simply plain wrong.
So Jim, where is the delusion in that stance?

No one here on the anti-MMGW side, has ever to my knowledge, suggested or argued, that the climate is not changing Jim. Most of us have gone to the trouble to show you a picture of the SUN, or to explain how a slight alteration in the rotational axis of the Earth is the reason for seasons, the changes thereof and weather patterns in general.
You sound like you now want to explain it all back to us as if it is your own idea.

You may have touched on a sore point there Mark. It is my opinion that Jim genuinely believes what he writes at that particular time.
As regards his floating position, well that's quite another matter.

I would sincerely like to let up on Jim, Bob. Unfortunately, it is an extremely difficult thing to do, particularly on this subject.
It is not necessary to start a 'pick on Jim Thread'. This thread is 40+ pages long for a reason and I firmly believe that it would be unhelpful to take elements of the various positions made by anyone in this thread, to another thread.
This is an ongoing discussion, argument and sometimes attack thread, on an extremely important subject.
I happen to believe that this subject politically, is more important than almost any other political topic. Governments are screwing with people and crippling Businesses across the Western World, supported and encouraged by people like Jim.
Jim and his Cohorts have been far more insulting and derogatory than I have been. A spade is a spade and I will continue to point that out as long as I can breath.
Jim is big boy and attacks me as frequently and as personally, as I do him. I do not expect that fact to change, as long as he, or anyone else, thinks they can call guys like me, who do not happen subscribe to their 'Tax the ass off everything because we are destroying the world' rhetoric.
I have been seen to publicly offer the Olive Branch to Jim on far more occasions than may have been necessary, warranted, or have been offered in return.
Jim, I am not saying that the weather isn't changing, I'm saying that it's a natural phenomenon, and not a reason to tax people to death and make Gore and his ilk wealthy on carbon credit schemes.

The Ice Age didn't end because made-made things like SUVs and industry heated up the atmosphere. 'Far more likely that something such as a bit more 'tilt' in the earth's axis did...or maybe a trainload of 'sun storm radiation' hitting the earth...a combo of both...or, who-knows-what.
But, one would think that if man's actions were "speeding up" the warming effect today as some claim, said effect would have to be ongoing or 'progressive' (irony much?!). That is, "warming" would have to be greater this year than last year. It couldn't just pause for a time and then continue upward (or drop for that matter) unless man somehow stopped his activities for a few years and then resumed them. And yet today we know know that the earth's average temp hasn't increased in the past 15-17 years or so regardless of the fact man's "global warming" activities have remained ongoing. Logically, given the greenie's 'warming' theory, how could that be? And just when/how did the earth switch from heading into another Ice Age in the 1970s to 'warming' today anyway?
In any event, until places like India and China decided to clean up their acts enviornmentally, it would seem the U.S. could become so "green" it could pump pure H2O out of every exhaust pipe and smoke stack in the country and it wouldn't matter. (Of course, U.S. industry will have gone completely bankrupt in the process, but, that's another issue...)
