In the latest edition of New Zealand Autocar Chris Amon, one of the drivers of 1966 Le Mans winning 1046, was offered a drive in the first new GT to arrive in New Zealand. He liked that car saying "This is pretty much how I remember the original in terms of the way it drives. It feels like they used to be in terms of balance, but is a lot more refined. It is sprung a bit softer, although the GT40 was soft as well. We had 3-4 inches of wheel travel back then." He goes on to say "This car really makes you appreciate good steering feeling. There's not much around these days with this much feel". High praise indeed fom a man Enzo Ferrari considered one of the finest drivers of his time.
